Z4 E85 - Irritating Steering Noise

Has anyone encountered this whining noise while turning the steering wheel when stationary?
Sounds kind of like no lubricants between shaft and bushing, and it sounds louder when brake is depressed.
Very minimum when brake is off.
New brake pads replaced but still same.
It really irritating and do hope to hear some of your encounters before heading to MA.

Yup..that's the same sound I have.
understand it's electric steering.. Going to be expensive if need to replace!!!
anyone got it fixed by greasing certain area perhaps?

knowing that i have this problem, i always move a little when turning the wheel and try not to turn full lock when moving very slowly (esp parking).
no point fixing it cos the car will up lorry faster than the steering rack (either get scr*wed by BMW or Gahmen...pick one).

Sold my z4 last year ...... When it comes to steering issues - have it checked out. E85 Z4s have a known stick steering issue ....... Can lose control in the worst case scenario.

so far after greasing still same......got sound..........
probably try to send to a workshop to double check better.........
