Prices for 20 inch tyres - really so expensive?

Hi guys

I am looking to get a set of 20 inch tyres, have been quoted ard $3,200 for a set of Vredestein tyres.

How much is a reasonable amount to pay for 20 inch tyres, and do they really cost so much? I was shocked at the quote given....

And what brand of tyres would you guys recommend for 20 inch? How much should I expect to pay for those?

Tyres looking at 245/35/R20 and 275/30/R20.

Advice anyone?

just sharing: was given a quote on csc5; 235/30/R20 & 295/25/R20 at around $3.1k...

erm, cos it's Vredestein. and your size of 275/30.

Pirellis and Michelins are only about $2.5+ thereabouts for that size you're looking for, well at least thats what I paid

never heard of vredestein before this... is it a good brand? worth paying extra for?

wow... never thought tyres can cost so much... but really want 20 inch rims... no choice.. hahaha

I paid $2.4K back then in July 09 for Vredestein tyres.

Sizes are 245/30/20, 295/25/20.

Heard that prices have increased quite a bit.
You can check with Hurry Tyre, bought from them.

i paid close to 1.1k for the rear for advan sports...

size are 285/25/20

for these two sizes in Vredestein SESSANTA XL shouldnt cost more than 2.5k.
paying more than 3k for Vredestein i will recommend other premium brands

You guys can actually try these few workshops. My previous car was a subaru, and subarus don't use such big and low profile tyres but it's worth a try. Try calling them up to ask for a quote.

Camber too much tyres wear out really fast. And tyres for that size isn't cheap man.

Just paid $1.05k for a set of Bridgestone 050A 245/45 R18 RF.

You should be able to get csc5 at abt 2.8k from Rays

digress just a little bit. Anyone knows whats the air pressure for 20" tyres? is about 2.8bar good? is 3 bar too high? thanks!!

2.8 bar would be good. Running that as well on my 20s. For tyres of this size and profile we cannot afford to underinflate as well as this will lead to premature inner wear especially of the rears due to load and cambering, naturally will place more contact and stress on inner rears
