Patched tyre usage?

Just had a tyre repaired as there was a rivet wedged in it. Was wondering how long the tyre can last with such a patch job? The guy couldn't tell how long the tyre would last but only said "heng nai yong".

if the patching is internal, then the repair is for as long as the rubber tread is usable. If its the plug then normal driving will see it last the same period. Tracking is a different story. If the plug is unable to zulcanise with the tire rubber then it may dislodge and leak...

should not just concernd how long can it last, is the tyre safe to use after the reapir, especially those done repair from outside no inspection of inside
