Newbie reporting- Pre-loved E60 523i

Hi all,

New to BMW.

Previously owned a Citroen so my tolerance for nagging problems been trained to the level of grandmaster. In my "younger days" I had Nissan NX Coupe, definitely inspired by Andy Lau.

Now that I'm wiser, I've moved from the dark side to the darker side? Hahaha....

Mods will be done gradually but need to resolve the sluggish pickup speed. Just switched to V-power hoping to clean the nozzle before exploring other possibilities. Any other suggestions welcomed but start with the cheap ones first hor! Thank you!

Welcome to the community.

How about a remap, IMO it is the best-Bang-for-buck. Immediate real hp and Nm gains plus responsiveness.

Welcome.

This is a clever car. If u drive like kuniang, it will react like kuniang.

Drive it like u steal it for a few days. It will be more responsive.

More air intake + fatter ignition sparks + power fuel + chipping / tune gives more sheer driving pleasure.

And lighter rims + Michelin PSS helps too.

Reasons why it is called ultimate driving machine?

Start with a power box bro, good mod to start with. Actually 98 is good enough IMO. cheers =)

I thought standard practice from old pros is to put ///M stickers. Sure +15 HP

Re: Newbie reporting- Pre-loved E60 523i

Welcome Loo.

Bring your car to NSHwy for a good sprint. It clears carbon buildup and your car ecu will map the engine to a more responsive mode. You will feel the extra horses when you are back in Singapore.

Re: Newbie reporting- Pre-loved E60 523i

Thanks for all your advice!

ECU remap/Powerbox (baby1M)(buywellsellwell)
Force ECU to relearn my driving style (davidtch)
M5 sticker (spolitbrat)
air intake + fatter ignition sparks + power fuel + chipping (brosiss)
lighter rims + Michelin PSS (brosiss)
NSHW to clear carbon buildup (limpeh)

Still lots to learn about the ultimate driving machine!
