New 6 series Gran Coup.... chio

Re: New 6 series Gran Coup.... chio

650 as in the 6 Series 650 coupe pricing ($413,888 ) is about same as Panamera entry from AD ($411,888 after $40,000 options and $85,000 COE)... so may be more value (V8 versus V6) to get PML 650 than AD Panamera entry model. Hope this clarifies...

Re: New 6 series Gran Coup.... chio

Dunno shld take the plunge or not... was told got until this weekend to decide based on current price. 650 has nice V8 turbo (same engine as M5?). But bose system is a standard that add 16k to the price, a premium 55k over 640. So only considering 640.

I recently ordered a 650 instead of the 640. After adding all the options (standard to 650) to a 640, the price difference is approximately $15k. I think the extra 2 cylinders and 120hp is worth the $15k difference, however just gotto take the pain of depreciation :juggle:

Hi, are you looking at the GC too? At first, I also think after adding the options may be easier to buy the 650 (thot the 640-650 premiums for GC, coupe and conv are the same). However, GC premium for 650 is higher bec of the bose sound system. So the addition options for 640 GC will cost about 11k-12k (body kit & rims), so the difference is still about 46-47k (8k cheaper for options for 650 GC).

I actually did similar calculations when tossing up between the F13 640i vs F13 650i, but since I wanted the M-sport kit, in addition to specs that weren't standard to either vehicles (auto parallel parking, side view, surround view etc) there was still a sizable gap ($370k vs $420k) and I settled for the more frugal 640i instead.

Just goes to prove that similar approaches will yield vastly different outcomes. Whatever floats your boat mate!

Base on the equipment list provided by PML, the 650 GC comes equipped with the B&O sound system, which itself is a staggering $15k option if we are to opt from the 640. And the M-kit is a $5k+ option to the 640 whereas it's only $1k for the 650. That's easily a $20k savings if you order the 650. And I think there are some other small ticket options standard on the 650 which you need to pay for the 640. I think this is yet another pricing strategy of PML. They priced the 650 to entice buyers (like myself who gets tempted by the toys) because of the value for money compared to 640 if we are to add all the options, but for the majority who couldn't care less will still go for 640. Either way they win, that is why I decided to pi instead....
