Hi guys & gals. I'm back into Bimmer again. This forum is so huge that I don't know where I can find kakis.
I just acquired an E39 M5 in carbon black. I had a brief encounter with the E34 M5 last year but sold it to a friend before I transferred it. Felt that was a little "old" & I needed a 3 seat back there when it only offered 2.
So here I am, this car came out of the blue. Got a call from the PML workshop & was told this is the particular unit to buy as it's pampered by the owner who's a very nice gentleman. I didn't test drive or run a PPI on it, car came with a stack of maintenance records & magazines+books
Let's see if I will keep this for a while.
I took 15mins to run through all the controls & adjusted the seating position. First driving impression is, it's heavy! Felt like a 2 tonner or a panzer rolling on the street & pedals offset towards right when my other car is towards left. Doors are bloody heavy as it's got double layered glass. It's taking corners relatively well & pretty soft over speed humps. But I haven't done much spirited driving in it yet. The car feels a little alien to me, "not connected" & I think it needs some tweaking somewhere to suit me.
Anybody owns one of this or other similar car eg. E39 540 etc.?
