For Coilover Reference: BC V1 (FK)

Whoo hoo!

Finally BC in for my mofo!

The feel on Day 1 is rather bumpy... as in the road feedback is 100%
Now on Day 2 seems a little less bumpy...

The coilover has settled more on Day 2.. now very low...

Of course negotiating corners is greater than stock, not 0% bodyroll la..

Another thing is I tot I felt a little loss on acceleration which shouldn't be the case..

So.. juz for all as a reference:)

Oh ya... i didn't know this;

Our top mount or that piece sitting on top of the coilover is not included...

So if u guys wanna change that together.. pls get ready the mount(new)

My rubber was cracked but LL couldn't get it it time so never replace :(

Re: For Coilover Reference: BC V1 (FK)

And no knocking no rubbing no problem so far.

Front 20 Rear 18 clicks

Car is rather tight now(in a good way)...

I think my acceleration is alrite... should still be the same.

Latest review;

BC V1 COILOVER over Stock Shocks

Instantaneous response, much less bodyroll and better looks
are the major pros

And due to my seasoned stock shocks, changing to new coilovers, I realised 90% of all the strange sounds are gone.
Simply, the old suspensions system affected the entire major feel n handling of my mofo...

Now feeling a little too soon tt my mofo is left with 2 years to EOL... :(

Well, am enjoying every moment wif my mofo...

Oh and my OC n frd nvr complain abt the butt feel :)) PASSED!

They only noticed me doing the Zoolander expression...

Latest Review;

Discovered that ws set everything to 18 clicks...

So I change to 18 front / 15 rear

Outcome:
Surprisingly comfortable yet lowered and tight on corners. Impressed!

Imagine this is juz BC V1... whoo hoo!

Re: For Coilover Reference: BC V1 (FK)

Another day another NEW feedback:

Change in car dynamics or something similar... In fast bends or corners;

On stock
1) Previously, (i think the springs are progressive), the fast turning will be matched by a sitting or something like the car changes in the handling and created a very sure and stable negotiation with the bend.

On BC V1 Coilover
2) i can feel that the car turning is relying totally on the stiffness of the coilover to negotiate which sometimes can be a little different style from stock.

Both can create a certain strong assurance on more aggressive driving style...

But stability on stock is obvious only at the right speed and turning angle/apex lining...

Coilover allows more tolerance and acceptance...

So its like i missed my stock "BMW" style but also feel great with the coilovers... Hmmm...

Anyways... I dunno if i am technically correct but its 2 different style...

Re: For Coilover Reference: BC V1 (FK)

Problem on the wheels alignment after installation of coilover...

1) Done 2 times of alignment with the WS selling the BC coilover...
Result: Fail... cos car still steer slightly left after alignment...

2) Went to another WS in thomson area...
Result: Fail... cos still pulling and steering angle doesn't seem straight...

There are reports of alignment problem after installing coilover in foreign forums too... but decided to go for a final 4th alignment @ Autokinectics after some research and recommendation...

3) Today, Wee did for me the alignment and explained much on the remedy and possible adjustment to make things straight...

and Result: PASSED!

I would say the alignment now feels much "straight" So Good Job Autokinectics. Will review along the month for any changes...

Hi Kyeong, do you have clunk sound from the coilovers when turning up a slope slowly?

Nope.. possibly not cos mine juz installed recently... (if its due to wear n tear)

I did read frm foreign site tt the clunk sound could be some stone stucked in between the springs... they used water jet to wash and reported no more sound after...

And some say its due to poor installation...

Re: For Coilover Reference: BC V1 (FK)

Many do review tt installing coilovers are a give n take, to the aesthetics and performance ...

I hv not tried other coilovers.. but wld say tt stock bmw does a better job on the weight distribution on maneuvers... coilovers r on stiffy feel... (my layman feel la, thr shld be better technical explanation on this.)

But the looks won me over... for now... till then 'clunk' 'clunk'...

P.s. BC so affordable... cannot complain more... else pay more to top range brands or models... :)

Able to clear normal humps and steep slope car park exits when lowered?

not a problem at all... of course i dun speed over humps... i do it slow (slower than stock).

for normal street driving + a little racer-boy 'on'... bc is seriously good enough...

unless u go track and really go crazy... (like long long time ago i witnessed the late Possum Bourne do his crazy 90 degree turn @ the Kallang Carpark Rally... OooooHooooo....)

else this the best.
