Fc for 320i :(

Re: Fc for 320i :(

im so jealous!
it takes me about $120ish to full tank if calculate for vpower..and only takes me 330-350km! :( i should be slightly higher then 320 since ima 330 but the fc is too drastic for a difference! its not as if im using an m3 :( any cure to this?

Re: Fc for 320i :(

dun do vpower....

Re: Fc for 320i :(

If everything don't work, mount a sail ----.Haha. ! Jokes aside , traffic condition is the main factor affecting the Fc ( if the car is already properly tuned ) . with start/ stop ,start / stop driving pattern, even Honda CITY oso have problem.

last time i on E46 318, same engine block as E90 320, i can hit 550km consistently. with exhuast and CAI Mod. but after i change to 19inches, dropped to 500km/tank.

ur car should hit 550km easily.

what?? I am lucky if i get 450. U must of driven very slow, no wonder you were bored with that car

need me to teach you how to drive???
even if u wanna drive fast, do so intelligently. if u see the lights in front is red, no need to cheong anymore.

consistency is the best! maintain ur rpm

Re: Fc for 320i :(

nah, i prefer to just drive, who cares how much fuel i use. Im here for a good time, not a long time!

Re: Fc for 320i :(

just hoot yr beemers. dont worry abt FC.

theres better things to worry such as stock market.

Re: Fc for 320i :(

depends mostly on your driving style. FC will get better after 10k km. for me go easy 90% city about 8.5 - 9.5 km/L. push it hard will be 8-8.5 ...assuming i reset the onboard computer during every pump

Re: Fc for 320i :(

just pump Shell 98 for 53.78 litres after discount $94.01& clock 529km
for 40% city 60% highway on a 15.5yrs E36 coupe manual.
My driving style average 4000rpm to change 1st - 3rd gear.
Hit redline few times a day :) low FC just becos is manual i guess.
Heard petrol up 2 cents after i pump haha...

Re: Fc for 320i :(

316 manual.. full tank gets about 500km nia... all because I road hog. NS highway, I get 350km for little more than half tank... much better.

My E36 320 iA gets about 400 max for a 60 litre tank...... Seriously considering Broquet and Ecotek.......sigh....

Re: Fc for 320i :(

my first tank 55litres should hit 460km. damn it......i thought can hit 500km.
this tank i go slow. change gear at 2000rpm mostly.

next tank i would have run in, change oil. i will try more aggressive driving. will update my FC.

Re: Fc for 320i :(

My ride E90 320i can go average 620km per full tank. No mod, on stock parts. FC improves when I change the engine oil 5w30 type. Engine responds better, you can feel it immediately after the oil change. Previously on stock engine oil, best mileage clocked 550km. Driving cond 50% city drive, 50% highway.

our auto cars more jiak you than their manual rides....my fc slightly better than yours but lousier than jawsg.....jin teck's fc not bad, lotsa mileage for less fuel.
as for the broquet thingy, dunno whether its of much use cos i heard alot of not so wonderful stories abt it.....just like the superione thingy i fixed, fc was good initially after that like no diff.....waste of money.
whats your ride setup? highway, normal road driving?
maybe we can exchange pointers and see how we can improve....haha
i just took out my simota and put on a hks mega flow filter....performance better especially for mid to high end but fc seems higher with the newfound response....very tempting to step on it

Next meetup, we exchange pointers, seems the FC slightly better now that the gearbox problems have been sorted out........

My ride pulls very well in the mid / high range but low end almost non-existent.....

Cheers,

Ray

Re: Fc for 320i :(

I got my 320i E90 15 days ago and now on my 2nd tank of petrol. V-power I pump after light came on for fuel. Pump in 106$ after 5% discount. I think its about 53 liters. Till today I have driven about ~475 km and I think another 15-25 km more it will light up the fuel light again.

So full tank now at ~53 liters travel around ~490km. about 50 to 50% highway versus city I estimate.

Does BMW needs to run in and get better mileages? As I am still on 2nd tank of petrol. Hope to get 550km per tank.

Damn those Camry seems to be very good in fuel economy. My colleague claim he get 11~12 liters for his 2 liter Camry 1 gen back.
