the way i read it, 528 is available at pml for testing but unfortunately after a few test drive, now in workshop

confused... is the 528 available for testing or is it in the workshop or at customs?

yeah, both are 2L. 520 is detuned assuming 520/528 use the same ecu
once you can unleash the ecu power (highly likely), it would be awesome

To retune the ECU n unleash 60 horses more?? I think its not tat simple.. Thou both r 2L turbo.. But the size of the turbo n parts should b different(just my guess) Ask the SE abt the diff, he not sure oso..

i do not expect a simple direct ecu remap like the current e90 lci 318 to 320 but if it can be done, then it's great. if not, perhaps change a few parts that found in 528 juice it up with aftermarket tune

Ah Wing, made the same choice as you. Went for the 523 this afternoon.
The engine note is music to the ears. Engine is smooth revving up till RPM 6000. Pickup is good enough to do city driving for a family of four. The 8-speed gearbox is a vast improvement from the 6 speed in my E89 S23i that has the same engine.

Since 528 is not available, I tried the 535 (0-100 is the closest among this 2 models). 535 is a much quicker car. i rarely have a chance to push the RPM beyond 3000. cos the car accelerates too quickly with its enormous torque from 1000. The IL6 turbo here didn't feel as smooth as the NA in the 523.

As this will be the last IL6 NA from BMW, I knew I had to go for it.
For heritage over innovation.

Bought the F10 iL6 as soon as my SE say it's the last batch!! Engine have always been sweet n smooth. have driven for 1 week no regret at all, whole family happy!!!
Having been enjoying it since my 2005 E60

i am dumb when it comes to testing of cars, but have been great to know that u guys who are experts chose 523, this comfort me much more that i have made the right choice..

looking fwd to do wheel shopping for the car.
apparently, F10 deep dish cannot go as deep as E60.


528 overtake nvm one. but dunno if the 523 can keep up with with the sonata taxi at the traffic light junction. haha

Like all the 6 potters believers, the sound of the engine is always stimulating to the extent of making you reach orgasm...Well the N20 is 4 potter and bolted with a turbo and it will probably sound like someone having dieahrea (always cannot spell this word properly.)
