I'm a newbie here.

With the current resale situation, what is the current body value offered by dealers/exporters for:
1) 3 year old E39 520iA (non executive model) with OMV of around $45K ?
2) 3 year old E39 520iA Executive model with OMV of around $53K ?

My guess will be approximately 18k-19k

My guess is that more E60 will be on resale market, that is why E39 value only have one direction to go ...

Collin,

I recently helped a fren to find an exporter for her Merc. There are exporters and exporters. Lowest offer $15k and highest offer $22k. I am not trying to give u an indication of the car body value here but juz trying to explain that exporters are juz like car dealers. Different exporter will offer u different price. So also need to shop around.

You can call Steven Teh @ 91190909. Not sure if he can give you a better price but I was told he does alot of export of BM cars. Do let us know the outcome as I am exporting my ride E39 too in a year's time.

I know of a 4 year old E39 525 was offered 15K for export, after deducting whatever percentage of loss due to parf paper, you are looking at even lesser value.

My 2 cents is the value will continue to fall ... it is afterall an "older" model.

The way they calculate my ride is (paper-7%)+12k ie (72.2-7%)+12=79K.

Is true that a E46 end 01 318iA (without step and multi steering) can fetch more than our E39. The same dealer quote 16K for my sis car.

After selling my E39 really dont know what car to buy, I loose money on buying BMW till I scare.

Paper value also makan 7% by dealer? Is that the norm these days? That equates to 5-7k depending on Coe. On top of that a lowly 12k. At the end of it, they make both ends.

E46s are holding better in terms of body price bc E90 is still early in the run (only a few months) while the E60 is already 2yrs in production. The old 7series would also suffer the same fate. So the longer the follow up model is around, the value of the previous will dip.

You are right bro, I went back to the dealer prepare to bite the bullet and sell, then now they offer me 10K, What a fxxx!!!

I need to fork out almost 5K to sell my car!!!

Think I sell liao then take MRT for 6 months wait for COE drop below 10K then buy back. Market so weak!!!
