Confusing country/city names

As a hao lian world traveller, I take pains not to get confused with similar city/country names…

anyone wulong before?

5 pairs of countries that Americans confuse



In a real life example, a customer called one of my company's sales engineer to close a deal, but the mobile phone was very bad with static and noise, so they decided to meet face to face to ink the contract. The sales engineer told us he was going off to Ho Chi Minh City to meet the customer and off he went on the next available flight. He reached there but couldn't find the customer and after some frantic calls later, he learnt that the customer said he was in "Hilton Sydney".

In Singapore, we always go for Kallang meetup. But for certain reasons, Jawzsg will always end up in Geylang.

I always get confused about Singapore. Dunno why somehow, hearsay, somesay, anyhow say, Singapore is a province in China.

In Singapore, we always go for Kallang meetup. But for certain reasons, Jawzsg will always end up in Geylang.

I always get confused about Singapore. Dunno why somehow, hearsay, somesay, anyhow say, Singapore is a province in China.

Sometimes, only sometimes, I wished Singapore was indeed a province of China

Sydney... its Sydney, Australia or Sydney, Nova Scotia?

Norway....its in Europe or in Maine, USA?
CAli....Its short form for California or refers to a place in Colombia?

When I was in Italy I see spa everywhere. Ferrari spa, Maserati spa,

That day I took a cab and told the FT cabbie in my crispier than crisp Queen's English that I felt like the famous Daily Hainan Chicken in Chinatown. The exPRC local in his perfect mandarin accented Chinese said something about Chinese chickens there daily at Chinatown ...
and promptly drove me to Geylang Lor 14... Oh well, still Chinatown and Hainan Chicken I suppose...
