Active Start-Stop Software Update

Hi guys,

I read somewhere on the 1-addicts forum (can't find the thread liao), that BMW has already released a software update to allow last user memory. So if you switched off the start-stop, then parked your car for the night, the next day, the start-stop stays off.

Anyone here heard about this from PML?

thank god they have finally released something like this!

I'm worried that the frequent start/stop could be bad for the engine and I'm keen on getting the memory function.

cheers

Re: Active Start-Stop Software Update

It's gonna cost around 200 dollars for the code... at least that's what the advisor told me when I was there...

It doesn't really hurt much to remember turning the function off manually then. Hahaha...

What the?! $200 to correct a badly implemented system? This should be a free upgrade.

Re: Active Start-Stop Software Update

you ask for upgrade = pay labour charge

if they do it while fixing a problem (ie: they need to upgrade the ecu s/w anyway) = free

there is no free lunch, not i say one ...

unless you had mastered yu lai shen jang to bang table

Try quoting

SI B12 15 12, charge the $200 to BMW under PuMA code MSA memory conversion.

I'm really not happy that PML wants to charge $200 for this.

Re: Active Start-Stop Software Update

eh.. I alr told them to fix this for me..
think its free for me.. coz my start/stop function malfunctioned..

I think F20 cant be left untouched for 16days.. *sweat*

Re: Active Start-Stop Software Update

I don't think the auto stop is and invention.Once and then stop n start , parking also like tat. Somemore so jerky when it start. Can't they just do a bypass on that?

Re: Active Start-Stop Software Update

the intent of start/stop is good
however, the technology is not there yet
it's at the begining stage now. need more years for the start/stop to be perfected
soon ... we could be driving electric motor with fake engine sound (optional)
and no need to change oil anymore :D

Re: Active Start-Stop Software Update

:furious:WHAT?? That's just ridiculous if it's only an ECU Update.
