6.9s for My Humble 523i

Putting my GTech Pro to good use, I did a quarter mile run in my 523i. Best time was 6.9s from 0-100km (6.6s 0-60mph) vs. 9.3s BM spec for auto. 1/4 mile ET was 14.8s @ 101mph. Not bad for a 2.5l in-line with a few modest mods. BM Rocks!:)

Re: 6.9s for My Humble 523i

That reminds me to pull my GTech Pro out of the dusty bin. Still brand new in box, unused. Time to get some figures for my 6.

Mine only pre-LCI E60 (2005), BMW spec for the 6-speed steptronics is 9.3 seconds.

My mods:
1) aFe cold air intake (great bang for the buck!)
2) Remus exhaust (love the rumble!)
3) ECU tuning by J4C

I have OEM 19" 152I rims so they are pretty heavy. You guys with forged should be able to run even faster.

Car not lightened, close to empty tank (probably 1/10th).

Re: 6.9s for My Humble 523i

6.9s for a 523i is quite amazing....

exhaust n CAI will give u better high end ..

just ECU tuning can achieve this timing is quite amazing for such a big car.

Re: 6.9s for My Humble 523i

lend me ur device. i wanna try the maser 0-100 properly.

Re: 6.9s for My Humble 523i

Did u setup the weight in yr gtech?

shoot a video, post in youtube..

A 530i auto with twin screw 6psi 300hp can get 6.6sec...yr 523 can do 6.9..quite amazing.

Yes I set my weight, but weight is not needed to calculate 0-100. It's only good for estimating power and torque. Getting a perfect launch is not easy and that plays a big part in the timing. According to GTech, accuracy of their 0-60mph is within +/-0.2mph, and accuracy of their 1/4 mile ET is within +/-0.01 second.

Re: 6.9s for My Humble 523i

Hi Titanic,

Congrats to your new found power and improved 0-100kph timing. After the three mentioned mods, did you dynoed your car and what's the new bhp and torque? Btw, any problems or glitches with the remapping done at J4C and what sort of piggyback system or brand is that? Interested to know more about the ECU remapping from end-users.

Thank you.

Re: 6.9s for My Humble 523i

dyno tuning by Rhommel or its an inhouse J4C ECU flash ?

really gd value if a simple reflash can bring about such gd numbers !!

I didn't bother to dyno. I am more interested in 0-100 and 1/4 mile ET. They are more real and tangible to me. And I believe the margin of error in measuring 0-100 is much less than in measuring hp number from a chassis dyno. Doing a dyno, you get three runs, you can pick the best or take the average. With a GTech Pro, you can do as many runs as you care until you are completely satisfied.

Dyno tuning by Rhommel. Don't go for flashes no matter how reputable. They almost never adapt properly to local conditions and the unique characteristics of your own car.

I wonder if the 530 does sub 5s with the same mods.Very impressive indeed.
