Windscreen kanna scratched

Hi folks,

My heart pain when my windscreen was hit by a pebble on a rainy day, along the high-way and my wiper swept over it. Now there is a long visible hairline scratch on it.:verysad:

Help anyone? I heard can polish away. Any idea where, who and about how much?

Just be very careful on polishing windscreen. If they overdo it or when the scratch is too deep, the polish will do the job of clearing the scratch but it will also make your windscreen blur if you look at certain angle. So hope the scratch is not in front of driving view, if not u may feel irritated. It will look something like the windscreen has got oil on it.

Did thought of changing the windscreen but feel that local fixing may not be as good as factory fits. My ride is just 8 months.

Thanks for the advise, I will be careful on that. The scratch is located just below my line of vision.

Heng...ah.... I was about to fix the window film. Now I have to postponed it and find out to change or repair option.

Just break the windscreen after CNY and claim insurance. Polish liao also sian.
Better still just sell the car.

Local fitting can be good as factory or so bad that got moisture on cabin side of the glass. Is heng suay.

Must install solar film before you break the windscreen. Prevent the bits from flying all over.

Hi folks,
I went to glass-fix. The scratch is deep and will have 'wavey' effect after the polish. Since it is in my line of vision, they do not advise me to polish it.
So the choice is clear.... break glass! Claim insurance. Will do it after CNY. Huat Ah...

Local fitting can be good as factory or so bad that got moisture on cabin side of the glass. Is heng suay.

Must install solar film before you break the windscreen. Prevent the bits from flying all over.

No need to smash up the whole windscreen, recently my windscreen just have a 3mm chip and crack, insurance replace the whole windscreen. They will not replace the solar film though.

Solar film must go back to your favourite tinting shop to do...

3mm chip you really went back to replace windscreen?

I actually intend to just repair, but the repair shop suggest replacing the entire windscreen as the crack is right in front of the driver. The crack (spider crack) will grow, as the car vibrates.
