Just wanna ask the current 3 series is made from which country?

The new E90 from where?

Depending on which batch..
The first batch of E46 when first came out was manufactured in Germany including sedan n coupe...

Then I think the face lift models excl coupe n cab are assembled in South Africa. The coupe incl M3 are still from Germany

As for the 7 series, I heard the name Thailand was mentioned sometime ago, not sure if it's really happening already.

Regardless, BMW exercises strict QC so there isn't any compromise in terms of quality.

The hondas in Guangzhou PRC are made to Japanese standards, had a chance to tour their site once and it was massively impressive... hope the BMW team have the same standards in Thailand or SA...

still an interesting question, is there a stamp on our car where it says made in where like on T-shirts?

Now it riase eyebrow on the quality std, :thinking: it's obvious the relocation to developing country is a cost saving or might even be more profitable. Labour is cheaper, parts wise might be, technology will be exported to thailand,china,s.africa. But the isssue is shd the new E90 is selling at $160k, what is the cost invlolved in making? Shd be lower in biz sense, but the bimmer is fetching the same price. Conclusion, either BMW make more $ ?quality is compromised or thay can say by mfg in german cost more than $160k?

Bottomline, end user like us to a certain extent buy becos of it branding and many other factors..... Thus IMO a bimmer still be bimmer rgdless of which country. Think it is more of a commercial decision.

You can find out the country of manufacture by looking at the VIN number of the car.
there are websites that help you decode these VIN numbers - do a google search - I forgot the site oredi

Heard that 1st batch of E90 330 to spore is from Germany, After that, subsequent batches of 320, 325 and 330 from south africa...

Was told by PML trainers at Advance course

The current deal you referring to is for which model? I dont think there is any confirmed price for the E90 yet!
