Tyres size on 20 inch rims

Hi All, Wats e difference between tyres size 245/35/20 with 285/30/20, & 245/30/20 with 285/25/20 for 20 inch rims? Different tyres shop recomend different combi leh. Will it rub wif 245/35/20 & 285/30/20 for e60 wif front 8.5j/et15 & rear 10j/et23? Thks, Patrick

the difference between the tires is that the 30 and 25 profile will have thinner side walls compared to 35 and 30...

pros : nicer look , more fierce , closer to manufacturer's recommended rolling radius

cons: harder ride , less protection for the wheels if u hit anything , more expensive

u can use both tires no problem...

as for whether will it rub or not with 245/35/20 for 8.5j et15 it should not rub unless your car is super slammed and you use squared thick sidewalls like yokohama tires.. in this case toyo or conti will be the safer choice..

10j et 23 is just nice for an E60... not too out and quite flush with fender... as for whether it rubs or not... same thing applies.. how low is your car and what tires are you using...

if your car is lowered with standard lowerin spring... 35 and 30 profiles will not rub...

personally i will go for the 30 and 25 profiles as it looks nicer...

Hi Terry, Thks for the info. I am now currently on 245/30/20 & 285/25/20 Yokohama & lowered with KW2. But there are no same tyres size availiable now, only falken or tyres with profile 35 & 30. Have already order a set of ps2 from LS but have to wait for a few weeks, therefore, now hanging around with the spare rim & tyre as rear tyre burst leh. Personally would like to go for 30 & 25 too, like wat you have mention, nicer & fiercer look. Actually, thinking of csc3 too but they only have 295 for rear & won't know wether will it rub with my rear offset. Thks, Patrick

actually the conti 295 is not very wide... i compared yoko 285 and conti 295 if u compare it side by side the conti 295 is very rounded... and u are already using 285 yokos....295 contis should not rub at all

ok, aniway, have already order the ps2 from leong seng. Let me noe loh if you are interested to let go your contis to me at a cheaper price
