Stock head unit E90 cd player faulty

Hi all,

Would need some help on my pre lci e90 stock head unit. Everything is working fine except it the front cd player can't "suck in" the disc which i suspect is a disc mechanism problem after surfing the net.
I don't really intend to change to after market head unit and would just like the cd changer to be repaired. PML has quoted me ridiculous prices and I'm contemplating buyer either a second hand head unit or of any car audio shops can repair it at areasonable price.

I've tried 3 car audio shops and most advised against repairing it and asked me to rely on my boot cd changer which works fine.
Just wondering if any one knows of any car audio shops Which can repair the stock head unit.

Hunt around audio shops for such HUs. You can start with Soundwerkz. They may have a second hand one lying around.

U can upgrade to the latest HU from PML for 1k with blue tooth and MP3 but it cannot control your CD changer anymore...

I did try soundwerkz and propel for a second hand head unit. trying to find more options

Zorro: u mean when i upgrade. The head unit cannot link to the boot CD changer?

Thats what the PML SE told me....Go dowm Kampong Arang and check it out and report back your findings ya..

I went to the alexandra one and they Said there was no upgrade available or my pre lci 320 and that they don't do repairs only replacement with a new set which costs $1150 w/0 installation!

Why don't you place a "WTB" thread in the classifieds in this forum? I am sure there will be some who will gladly sell it, esp if they have replaced with aftermarket HUs.

Worst scenario may be to replace with aftermarket HUs and for that price that PML quoted, you could possibly get a pretty decent one.

Hi bros,

Sorry for hijacking this thread...but I just realised my fren's 320i pre FL comes with CD changer. Does anyone know if the LCI comes with it too? E90/92/93 etc?

I think most comes w the CD changer. Depends on whether it is at the back or from the front head unit.

Anyway just an update. Did a check with all the audio shops recommended by the bros in this thread. Most of the car audio shops are very reluctant to do repairs apparently no parts available.

Hope this helps the anybody if such a thing happens.
