Radiator hoses and pipe replacement

Dear all fellow bimmers owners, just did my servicing at my own workshop. Mechanic told me my whole set of pipes and hoses need to be replace as it’s 70% worn out. Quoted $1k+ for replacement. Is this reasonable? I’m driving a X1 2012 E84. Thinking of changing my car next year, therefore feeling not so worth it for this change.
Need some advice here.

To be honest, pipes and hoses do not cost so much and the labour as well. What you are paying for is the convenience and peace of mind that your ws will settle for you within a day.

WS will ALWAYS tell you this and that need to change after a normal service, expect it to happen. At least they did inform you as it is in their professional capacity to do so, as a form of potential business and an informal form of non-liability of their current servicing. (I already inform you to change, but you didn't...)

Its a risk if you intend to carry on driving without changing as now and new ride, anything can happen.
1 or 2 hoses will only cost <$150 at stockist + labour probably S$100, but it may lead to something worse like overheated burst radiator, engine shutdown in the middle of nowhere etc which will be dangerous or even cost more.

As a previous BMW owner, cost is never an issue for thought when it comes to servicing, otherwise I would have stayed Japanese

If it’s a few hundred for pipes and hose... I’m willing to pay... but 1k + seems to be changing the whole set of the radiator system.... I’m just feeling it’s not worth it to change if I’m going to change my car next year
