What a pity ...this is type of FT that I would really respect....disciplined n fierce loyal warriors, more trusted than our own police or army for protection

Condolences to e Gurkha serviceman.

It is in their tradition/culture that it is an honor to serve as a soldier or police officer therefore disciplined, fierce and loyal warriors. Honor and Pride is a very strong element in enabling such attitude unlike e focus on.... Like what our uniform Organisation is doing.

Their chain of command is very strict too, each man is only answerable and take orders from their superior e.g. Higher ranked officers NOT from their contingent/division/whatever, cannot order them around, respecting e rank and taking orders r two different things. This is impressive still they stick strictly to orders and answer only to their immediate superior whereby anyone with higher rank cannot push them around or change their last transmitted order unless it comes from their immediate superior (it simply means, any change of orders or whatever has to be transmitted at proper channels e.g. CO-CO, OC-OC, etc than e superiors will transmit the stuff down e line).

Try that in our military or police force, higher ranking officers from other contingent/division/whatever, will push their way on lower ranked servicemen, if e serviceman get complains, their immediate superior will simply F them instead of support their men that they r just doing their job. I seen it all too often in my previous career, this is a stupid culture where rank speaks louder than what is right or wrong. Having all said, it is improving within our uniform service.

Apologies for bitching, just adding more than posting condolences.
