Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

the 335 guy is fairly new to tracking but he's a friendly guy (friend of a friend)

not sure what tires the 335 was on but the CTR was on semi slicks (driver is a forumer here, fasterthanferrari's brother hahha)

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

background music doesn't suits well with the video...

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

this is another video that shows power while a factor, is not a high priority when it comes to circuit work

this can be shown mathematically

But then again it's 3L TT... vs 2L NA le.

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

335's lines many wrong....besides i think the CTR if he really wanted to cud hv risked it all at the corners.

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

I ve never sepang-ed but I ve played with my haidees Euro Civic Type R. Obviously the Honda is no match, anyone will know. But heh before anyone jump to conclusion I am bias against Honda Civic, yours truly was a Honda beng previously. Honda Type Rs are really fun cars to drive, I say one.

Things are always different on track though because the application tests all aspects of a car's performance, not just a fraction of the whole whether it is on the highway, short sprints, turns all within a very narrow turn radius window etc. Public roads just don't provide the kind of test that tracks do.

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

If I want a FWD car for serious tracking, I'd choose the FD2 CTR.
Saw many at MMER last weekend..very capable machine....

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

FD2 CTR is a very good car.. been wanting one myself too. It's light, handles well and can track on and on without overheating.

Somehow i just don't think 335s are made for tracking... It's a different thing altogether =)

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

Yes Pak, that's what I did, no fear no worries, no over heating problem. But many conti eye see no up this jeepoon chia.

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

FD2s ftw... the REAL street legal track machines...

ONLY 2 litre-N.A?.. but it can track almost endlessly... how many f.i'd cars can handle that?...

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

Here we go again....BMW vs JDM. But still better than M3 vs 335....kekekke

Oppss !

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

perhaps the FD2R driver is already one of the best, and the 335 driver is baby compared to the FD2R driver. Plus the FD2R has semi slicks. Not discounting any ability of the FD2R car and driver but given the same standard of driver for the first couple laps anyway I think the 335 would have given a better fight.

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

I really don't think it's BMW vs jdm. Track performance isn't everything.. But just one of the factors in a car. The CTR is probably going to beat the bentley continental gt too but does that mean the conti gt is a worse car? There are reasons such as image, comfort, build etc that makes a car whole and makes the world view BMW a better car ( I don't see hordes of ppl selling their BMW and changing it for the CTR ) I wouldn't change my 335 for a CTR either =) but I dun mind having CTR as a second car hehehe.

Re: FD2 CTR and BMW 335

2wks ago had a run in with wrx blue latest civic type r with 17" mag rims. wow! he could keep up with me from thomson rd - lornie rd - pie - jln jurong kechil. fact is, my ride is still only at 5400km and yet to fully run in and i only pulled up to 5k+ rpms. but, he could keep up with me although the gap widens while accelerating shows that its DEFINITELY A GOOD CAR!
we finally stopped and chatted (initially when i wound down my window he thought i was gonna pick a quarrel but, i thanked him for a good race) - its stroked up to 2.4lt / lightened flywheel / full modulo suspension / mugen exhaust / prodrive rims / etc. dynoed 340hp on crank. there's a few of them with these set-up and on a 1200kg car is pretty fast!
