Hi Bro,

Welcome aboard.

There are quite a fair bit that you can mod your ride into.

18" Rims, Sports bodykit, exhaust, lighting package, air filter, Sprint Booster and these are jux the starters.

To find out more, feel free to join in our gatherings over weekends and let other enthusiast feed you with what they call "poison":lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Keep a look out for the gathering threads from time to time.

Meantime, enjoy your ride

Cheers

Re: E87 118i Newbie

Hi, I am new to the forum. Planning to get the new 318i before the next COE nad need to decide fast. Apparently, it 's good value as compared to 320i based on the price and specs. Appreciate if someone can enlighten if the 318 engine is DOUBLE VANOS. Test drove it and must say that the low end torque feels good. What about the Sensatec 'leatherette' instead of real leather? Heard that it can outlast leather and comfort level cames close to the real thing.

Hey bro,

Welcome on.

318, from my shallow understanding, is a de-tune ver of 320. U lose 20 ponies, but this can be easily rectified after-market. Just have to pay for it:nehnehhh: :nehnehhh:

Good value or otherwise is veri subjective. Other then sacrificing 20 ponies, you will not have Xenon lights, headlight washer, anti-dazzle for your rearview mirror, auto-aircon and full leather.

If you can live without the above, fine, then its a gd buy. Both are 4 pots so no diff.

Synthetic leather will not survive very well if you park your ride under exposed sunlight constantly. Being Synthetic, the material needs lesser maintainence than the real thing, but you have to check with your SE regarding the maintainance needed. Better still, check with a few other reliable sources regarding this.

Above are my 2 cents worth. Hope it helps

Cheers

talking about de-tune,does it mean to say my 118i can be easily rectified after-market too,and get 120i power?

By the way, 318 is paying 320 road tax.

If you are not looking at too unbelieveable figures, I am sure its not a problem. re-tuning your ride is not a problem, but do not expect 40 ponies more lah. If you can get another 20 more, I think its reasonable.

But there are quite a few things you can do to add a few more ponies, like change your exhaust.

Enjoy your shopping.
