fact: warranty does not cover brake pads. not especially if your complaint is that your brakes are squealing like a stuck pig.

pls do a search on the topic before you post a new thread, especially when this topic has been discussed to death in this forum.

not being nasty, but at least do some research before asking.

many thanks.

Re: Brake pad and screeching!!

It may be a fact but I had my pads and rotors changed when I mentioned that my brakes squealed under slow speed braking.

It was changed when car was 2 months old.

Perhaps it's a known problem with the f20 so they could be more accomodating in changing the pads.

Re: Brake pad and screeching!!

dude, you might think that they changed your pads and rotors - that's what they told you.

did you physically see the old ones being changed out and the ones installed are new? i'm almost sure your answer is no...

what they most probably did was take a drive out of the workshop to try to bed-in your brakes, which they couldn't have done properly given the time and the road conditions. the temporary 'bedding-in' will last you at most a couple of weeks, or until the top layer wears off. the most conservatively you drive, the faster it will wear out...

what you need to do is to bed-in your brakes periodically. else they will still squeal no matter how many times you bring it to PML or MA.

No need change of pads. Face this issue initially as well. Just do some occassional hard braking and e screeching sound will seldom surface..

Re: Brake pad and screeching!!

my brake pad also worn out, brake and release brake after engaging hand brake will have the screeching sound too...

going to bring to the workshop to change (under 2nd hand car dealer's tab as the warning came up just 1.5 weeks after purchase). shall report back findings after the change :)

And how did you know that they did not ? And bedding in is not the solution to all squealing brake problems .....

Because I've been hanging out long enough at workshops to know...
