"Seeing I can't possibly beat them in the mechanics game (not that I intend to, Mr Traffic Police Sir), I may just have to give in to the Ah Lian in me."

She ends up sounding much more juvenile than the point she wanted to get across.

And what does she mean by BMW not being a common car?
There're over 15,000 BMWs on the road!!!!

When she meant she may just have to give in to the Ah Lian in me, it meant shes going to buy a beemer as well....

Funny thing why she only met mean bmw drivers along CTE....

eh dun lah :D be safe and keep it on track

Hehehe, I'll be honest! I probably contribute to a certain percentage of a black BMW chasing Evos, rexes and civics down the freeway! Kekeke

we all engage in some spirited driving once in a while.
but this lady seems to imply that she will makan the beemer if her car was able to, but since she cant, she will unleash her inner Lian.
wtf is an inner Lian?? a vulgar lady? a loud honker? wat? wat? :errr:

someone who dresses skankily and sleeps around with ah bengs?

The notion of generalisation without discretion is obvious here, in her blanket statement to declare war on BMW drivers.

I am not doubting her on her version of the account. Black sheeps are inevitable. But the emotional factor is clearly clouding these situations.

There is this perception of luxury car drivers adopting a snobbish driving attitude on the road - I am not too sure if the E46 is still reckoned as a luxury car, given that many Jap cars could match in the degree of luxury nowadays. Anyway, coffee-shop talks will reveal that many think that Merc, BMW, and Lexus drivers are showboats who are reckless bullies on the road. Boils down to segregation.

Just a thought here. Had a more "popular" make, say Civic or Swift, exhibited the same driving behaviour, she might not have snapped like the way she did. I am making a wild guess, but nonetheless a premised one.

Perhaps it is the expectation that BMW drivers are not supposed to drive this way (just my hypothesis).

Perhaps the tolerance level for BMW drivers showing aggressive driving habits is on a lower threshold.

Which brings to my memory how (almost) every drivers generalise the driving behaviour of taxi-drivers...... Perhaps she might declare war against all cabbies had the culprit in question is driving a cab......

Deducing her ladylike behavior and understanding of her writing style, it can only be broken down to one simple gesture:

kenntona,

It's the underdog mentality. It is hyped up and drilled into our mind since young from movies and stories. The hero is always the down and out guy whilst the bad guy is rich and powerful. I think she hates BMW drivers more because she obviously has some envy/jealousy that is being expressed as dislike resulting in the lower tolerance level.

She has so much anger. So much hate. Must be the rock music.

Winston.

Don't do that or you will fall right into her trap. That is the behavior she expects from BMW drivers. With such a vitriolic outburst from her, it will become a self-fulfilling prophesy. Should she really decide to scream and shout at BMW drivers, I think they can only get nastier to her.

aiya, this is in reference to what releashing the inner lian in her is about... not me pointing at her lah... i don't drive much along CTE...

Winston,

Oh, ok. Sorry my bad.

Always smile back and ask her if she really wants one.

that's a scary finger you got there! haha!
so that was what she meant, and here i was thinking she wanted some raunch.

that must surely be explicit enough....

ken, it's careless remarks like hers that get readers (in this case those who read the nudepaper) to start generalising and thinking "yeah hor, she's right. damn bmw drivers deserve to be f***ed" cos its being printed in the tabloids so it MUST be true."

then what happens next? bmw spoiler kena torn off, car kena scratched, etc...

a person is entitled to his/her own opinion, but reading from her emotionally charged article, i cant help feeling that she's not much better off in character herself.

anyway, as always, we all have our stories, and mine happened today.
i was driving along normally on the left lane, and this freaking car (i am not like her so will refrain from revealing the make of the car) started to push his way out from the middle lane into my lane. The fella knew that my car was already next to him and he continued to push me into the bus stop.

basically its not the make of the car, rather the person driving it.
so what i did was slow down to a crawl for him to cut into my lane. then honked at him. nothing more. but it was quite funny to see him shudder at the horn, at least bmw decided to have loud horns for passive drivers like myself. hehehe!

what sucks is she can point that thing at us,
but if we reciprocated, then she call police,
we kena rattan.
life is unfair!

erm... i AM in the midst of declaring war with taxi drivers.

Declaring war. Hmm. Leading the QP commandoes, or the Bimmer army?

Who do you wanna take out first - NTUC Comfort, TIBS, Yellow Top, CityCab, Silver Cab, SMRT, TransCab, Smart Automobile and Premier Taxis......?

Okay, if you need to "teow zui," give me a call.
