Battery Change for E90 320i

Hi Bros and Siss,

Anyone has any recommendation on where to replace the battery?
Price indication?

My car is 4+ yrs and on the original battery, so not sure if it's time to change soon.
But I do get occasional hesitation when I crank my car, so it might be a sign.

check out MA ... for battery i would suggest go with "original"
BMW 320i original battery is $360+
downtime at least 2 hours

Any idea what the 'original' brand is?
Cos factory fitted ones really can last.
Those that we change outside probably last 2 yrs only.
Anyone knows PML price?

Get your vin ready and call the PML parts store for the cost.

Remind whoever that is changing your battery to code the car when done.

Get your vin ready and call the PML parts store for the cost.

Remind whoever that is changing your battery to code the car when done.

Er..... why do we need to code the car when done..??

My audio shop didn't provide such service when replacing my batt (not HP) last month.. :thinking:

The car varies the way it charges depending on battery's condition. Telling the car it's a new battery recalibrates the way it charges.

Er..... why do we need to code the car when done..??

Yes you need reprogramming after battery replacement.
I guess the audio shop don't have such equipment to do it.

The car varies the way it charges depending on battery's condition. Telling the car it's a new battery recalibrates the way it charges.

What exactly will happen to the car when i did not do any programming after replacement of battery huh..

coding is to tell the car what the ratings are. so if the car charges at a rating different from the battery then battery will either overcharge or undercharge.

They obviously don't have the programming/coding equipment.....

My E60. I assume bigger battery A/Hr capacity then for 320, cost $320 from BMW Emergency Service. 3 years warranty. Need to go back PML for coding. Just make sure you insist on not paying for coding.

I changed at a btty shop (non PML/ BMW) once. $240 only. 6 mths warranty. But btty lasted only 14 months. So you are right about the "coding".

Called BMW Emergency Service and they told me BMW btty "honestly really last longer." That's also why 3 year warranty. $320 for E60, plus $10 kopi money.

yup .... need to make sure the car knows the rating of the battery and the registration is done as well.

The reason why I went for outside btty at $240 was bcos at that time, I telephone PML and SE told me die die must use BMW btty otherwise computer can die. Also was told about $800 - need to do diagnostic first. One day job.

Hell with them, so I went outside.

Nowadays, if got problem, call the Emergency Service and ask for basic feedback first. Just tell them got sound, got smell, got shadow, got anything... and ask them to come to your car park. Free mah. The hell with PML.

I never knew u die die must use back BMW battery. With that ignorance, I went to change my previous E60 battery at my usual workshop and everything was fine in the next 2 years I used it before selling it off .... aircon very cold somemore.. irrelevant

Ouside WS guy use a Amaron Din 100 battery on my E60...dun noe correct A/hr or not?

Oic. I think i need to ask for battery recoding again. I suspect my lousy Dr380 blackvue cannot be startup immediately after engine start because of this issue.

any kind soul can share the battery code with me?

MA told me that only Original BMW battery can code...

Another brand can't do it...
