aftermarket slotted / cross drilled direct filt front rotors for E90 318i

Guys, sorry i'm new here and would like to seek those "old birds" for help to enlighten me , i would like to upgrade my front rotors to cross drilled, slotted ones without having to change the whole brake sets is it possible ? i have asked a few shops out there and they are unwilling to sell just the rotor to me.. i am not asking to enlarge the front rotor but just to change into a aftermarket ( cross drilled )ones. is it possible ? and if it does can someone give me the contact so that i can look for them? how much does it cost ?

my current set up is on steel braided and performance brake pads .
second question:

i am also wondering is it possible just to change only the suspension spring itself to a aftermarket ( M performance , etc ..)and keep the original shock absorber, what is the advantages and disadvantages of having this set up ? my main objective was to keep the ride smooth but at the same time to prevent as much body roll as possible .

sorry for my newbie questions as i am still learning, hope everyone here can forgive me !

and thanks in advance for any input you may have !!

Hi Bernard,

1) Rotor maybe can try Eng Soon one of our site sponsor..
2) Probably you may wanna upgrade to a better sets of anti-roll bar to reduce roll ( at the same time keep your stock set-up since you need comfort )

Yea maybe eng soon have the rotors. I have an msport spring from my e90 lci sitting in my storeroom :) or u can consider aftermarket springs with matching shocks. I'm on bilstein b6 with h&r sport springs and it's quite a good balance of comfort and handling. What ride is yours btw?

TRY DBA rotors ... very nice for oem types...

No need to change calipers or brackets ... while you are taking all out, remember to change pads and senors for new rotors and do proper bed in. Check if SSBH if any leaks too ...

No need to change the springs... changes spring if you want further lowered. springs is choose wrongly then u have weird floating feeling or too soft, then car will slam if too high speed.

just change your sub frame bushings for a harder feel.

change suspension (Bilstein ) if you still feel roll. good enough and comfy whilst sporty look

DO ARB last to touch up if needed ...

Another way is to opt for DYNAMIC DRIVE when ordering your car

Re: aftermarket slotted / cross drilled direct filt front rotors for E90 318i

also if springs dont match absorbers, will shorten lifespan of absorbers and handles weirdly because ratios all screwed up. just change to coils and lower the car + anti roll bar, it will be comfy, improved handling and less roll.

Re: aftermarket slotted / cross drilled direct filt front rotors for E90 318i

aftermarket springs and stock absorbers will definitely reduce lifespan of absorbers, just be prepared to change more often. or you can pair the aftermarket springs w aftermarket absorbers designed for the shorter springs, eg. eibach springs and bilsteins b8.

Re: aftermarket slotted / cross drilled direct filt front rotors for E90 318i

Was quoted by Eng Soon : Rotors OZ sports at SGD 320. ATE brand at SGD 200. Both before gst.

Re: aftermarket slotted / cross drilled direct filt front rotors for E90 318i

Hi Bernard, Eng Soon may carry the stock for the drilled and slotted disc rotor.
In the mean time I have a pair of front BMW Performance brake caliper(yellow in colour) 6 piston with the disc rotor that is larger,
minimum 18" rim size to fit this brake system.
The condition of the disc rotor estimate 60%, it is currently on my E90 325i, thinking of letting go for SGD 1500/set.
Brand new was SGD 3000/set.
No modification for all BMW E-90 saloon. Changing my ride to non BMW brand.
My hp is 97895067
