Advice on tyre rotation

Dear Seniors,

Please advise whether to rotate our tyres every 10 000km or not?

Good or no good to do it?

Many Thanks

No issue unless you've got staggered tyres. Rotation extends service life. Don't forget to get your alignment checked if you notice uneven tyre wear. Ask the tyre shop guy to check for you

RSSID is right. Though staggered can rotate left and right side as long as the tires are not directional …

Quick question, should we rotate left to right and vice-versa, if the wheels are staggered?
Why is this required? Is it because of the number of turns we do in our daily drives?

Just checking to understand, thanks

If the tires are directional - left/right swap also cannot …

If the tires are non directional, why would left/right swap make a difference if the wheels are properly aligned (alignment is good) ?

Tyre rotation (regardless of direction or non) is to cater for even wear & tear for all 4 tyres.

Front wheel and rear wheel drive cars will wear the front and rear tyres differently, and thus the reason to rotate regularly to prolong the tyre life and even wearness for safe braking

Thanks, but when the wheels are staggered
The front only go from left to right and vice versa, same as the rears, just left to right and vice versa

Does a left side wear out differently from right side?

Roads are rarely even …

For your reference.
Other than what Codewerx mentioned roads are rarely even, the load distribution may be different

TBH, I change new shoes every 2 years at around 30k mileage and only rotate once per set. For the more diligent ones, if you rotate every 10K, can definitely last for longer mileage, and possibly longer years as well

Sg road are actually cambered ever so slightly to one side or another for water drainage so yes swapping from left to right will make a small difference.

Although besides tyre rotation the next biggest and best way to maintain tyres is proper tyre pressure as indicated on the sticker on the driver's side door sil.
