I checked with Autobacs JB. They quoted me RM1,650 to change a pair of Xenon HID bulbs.
This time I bought the original Philips 4300K OEM D1S HID Bulb (made in Germany) from Eng Soon and have the bulb changed next door at Benzine. Total for 1 bulb including installation is only $171.20...
At Thailand immigration checkpoint, you need to show a certified copy of log card from LTA if you do not have the hard copy. You will also need to fill in an immigration form for each person. Lastly get ready S$30 for express check in.
I have more patience since I lasted 7 years with PML's servicing. In each of my last two visits, a new fault appears within a few days and the second time immediately after driving off from PML. My car has been in PML's workshop for 11.5 days in 2016 alone. I am very unlikely to buy another BMW...
I opted for a single OEM Made in Germany Osram Xenon bulb + labor at $305. A pair of Made in Taiwan Xenon bulbs + labor are actually cheaper at $280. Both at outside sponsor workshops.
At 43k mileage, my servicing at PML includes spark plugs besides the usual oil change. The total bill is $600+ including labor for changing 6.5L fully synthetic oil and 6 high power spark plugs (mine is 6 cylinder). This was two years ago.
Thanks bro, I have changed the left bulb to Osram D1S bulb (colour temperature of 4300K which is the same as the original bulb) and the headlight is working fine now.
My 335i is 5.9km per litre for >80% urban driving. I thought it was bad until I drove the 520i loan car and found the fc is not too far off at 8.8km per litre which is proportional to the cc (50% higher cc results in 50% higher fc).
That's your right low beam Xenon light. The system identify it as dipped beam (another term for low beam). My right side is flickering and I am still monitoring it.
I managed to turn on the battery power by pushing the Start button without depressing the brake. The left low beam is flickering with or without engine power.
Thanks, Tony. I did not swap the bulbs but there is no more fault message. The left low beam still flickers but no longer dies off. From what I gathered, it could be water ingress or resistor? Does CodeWerkz do repair on resistor? I am also thinking of getting coding done for five times signal...
The headlights cannot be switched on when I off the engine, only sidelights can be switched on.
There is some improvement. The left low beam flickers but does not turn off in low light conditions where previously it dies off after a while.
I read several forum. In order of likelihood (from high...
All lights are OK upon starting up the engine...
but the left low beam light flickers and turn off after a while
with fault message dipped beam left failure
The manual indicated that the Xenon headlights have a very long service life and are highly unlikely to fail. Anyone else has the...
