Dad's car F07 idrive sometimes dims down a bit and then suddenly brightens up, doesn't happen always, but enough to make you feel irritated. Brought in to PML, and they said its a software issue, update software but still problem persists, any other bros here experiencing this too?

Yeah, i find putting into N then R is slightly smoother, but I don't hear any clunk from my interior or jerking, unless i'm on a slope.

1) Mine doesn't have a jerk, but are you on a slope? 2) At low speeds, should be ok, but don't do it that often i guess? hahaha

My SA told me that ATF only needs to be changed for activehybrid (every 50k km), normal 335i & 535i doesn't require such changes.

Re: Auto Transmission Fluid Yup, 40000km, checked with my PML SA during servicing last week. But this is only for Hybrid, the standard petrol variants don't need to change ATF at all.
