[Video] BMW M5 takes Ferrari 488 Pista on a drag race

People calling the F90 M5 as the ‘supercar killer’ states an irrefutable fact. The uber-sedan shames those who claim to be proper supercars. And a tuned M5 embodies this description very well. In this featured video, a tuned BMW M5 takes Ferrari 488 Pista on a drag race.

Some might say that this race is unfair with the tuned BMW M5 running in 800 HP while Pista has 720 HP only. But the fact that Ferrari 488 Pista weighs a lot lighter than M5 makes a difference.

Evolve tuned the BMW M5 to Stage 2 which gave it the 800 HP power. To achieve this power, some tuning was made to the engine. But still, the supercar killer still ran on stock internals. Therefore, all changes were done without touching the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. n other words, the internals were not included with its overall tuning.

On the other hand, the Ferrari 488 Pista generates 720 HP, only 80 HP short of the M5. However, the fact that it is a lot lighter and more aerodynamic makes the drag race interesting.  The Pista weighs half a ton lighter than the BMW M5. Nevertheless, the M5, being an all-wheel-drive, gains more advantages in this race. As shown in the video, this really made a great difference between the two.

Unsurprisingly, the M5 beats the Ferrari. The bimmer had a tighter grip to assist its whopping power. And that performance comes without any struggle. On the other hand, the Ferrari experienced some roadblocks because of its rear-wheel-drive feature. Being a rear-wheel-drive was one of the M5 models’ problems before. Well, with the F90, this problem has been solved.

Even with the ‘comfort’ settings, the M5 still took the limelight. This is a rather interesting development. The Ferrari surely weighs lighter but when BMW M5 takes Ferrari 488 Pista on a drag race in this video, its power took over.
