2022 BMW i4: First Electric Sedan Seen in Spain

Get excited for next year because the 2022 BMW i4 electric sedan will finally be unveiled. And with it’s nearing world debut, the first electric sedan is undergoing through strict testing. Guys from Motor.es who come from Spain have released spy photos of the four-door coupe. These photos will allow us a clear, closer look at the elegant, though covered, lines of the i4.

The 2022 BMW i4 is among the same lines of the next generation 4 Series Gran Coupe which will also launch in 2021. Aside from joining the newly-launched 4 Series family, this 4-door coupe will be the only electrified model of the range.

As we can see, the BMW i4 gives off a sporty stance. And comparing to the 4 Series Coupe, it looks longer and taller. Even so, a proper sports sedan that’s fully electric from BMW is already great.

Also from what seems to be a talk around town, the BMW i4 will be the most engine aggressive 4 Series; even more powerful than the next BMW M4. With a whopping 523 hp from its dual electric motor and monster battery pack, this will make it more powerful than the M4 Competition and its 503 hp.

Additionally, this 4-door electric coupe will use the fifth generation eDrive architecture, it’s only just the second car from BMW to use it. The first one was the BMW iNexr (iX). BMW claims it will have over 600 km (370 miles) of range on WLTP cycle – that’s totally special!

This officially gives it more range than any other EV out in the market. That’s a long shot, actually, and it’s likely to have a bit less range than that. However, it would definitely huge for the brand if BMW can hit that great target.

Nevertheless, you can say that it will still be an awesome car. With its four-door coupe design, 530 horsepower and BMW-like handling, even with 270 miles of range, the BMW i4 still passes as the coolest EV in the market.
