2011 MINI Cooper offers the Best Fuel Efficiency In Its Class

The 2011 Fuel Economy Guide by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has just been released. MINI Cooper is one of the most-efficient cars in its class, rated at 29/37 mpg on combined cycle.

The 2011 MINI Cooper received a power upgrade with its normally aspirated 1.6-liter I-4 engine now producing 121 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque.

The turbocharged Cooper S and Clubman S have Vanos variable valve-timing for the intake valves which adds 4 horsepower to its output. This brings the total horsepower to 181. The John Cooper Works fleet remain at 208 horsepower. The fuel economy for these cars remain very competitive within their segment.

In 2011, MINI will be raising prices from $600 to $750. The cheapest Mini for 2011 is the Cooper hardtop will be selling at $20,100 from $19,500. The 2011 Mini Cooper Convertible now sells at $25,550, while the 2011 Cooper Clubman is priced from $21,800.
