i stated an indicative price of 305-310 for the z4m in another thread a few weeks ago. the m roadster was launched today @ pierside kitchen & bar, 1 fullerton. official pricing for the m is a shade lower.

z4m @ 298
z4 3.0si @ 225 (same as previous z4 3.0i)
z4 2.5si @ 200 (same as previous z4 2.5i)

must say i am a tad surprised that pml went sub 300 for the m roadster. faster & cheaper than m3 :nehnehhh: . the m coupe will really move if it were launched at the same price.

received sms from pi on 10th july 06 that cayman s is now priced at 285 => stuttgart would have brought their price down as well. so, tough fight between the cayman s & m coupe in the same price bracket.

....i have to claim the blur phuck award for nearly missing the dinner despite two reminders from pml (one last week and another this afternoon). tough job... still hacking away at the office this evening. just sashayed in as starters were served. lol

after food, we got our grubby fingers all over the interlagos blue and imola red m roadsters. smyuen... erm...do you find this chap familiar? wtf is he tinkering with the m when he already have a badder m(aser)?

btw, i already chope a test drive. let you guys know once date confirm. then provide an fr once i've abused the m roadster. muahahahaha

Agreed with you on the pricing. I was expecting it to be in the low 300k.
This is definitely going to be a good fight vs the caymanS ( let alone the MCoupe version ) as far as pricing+ performance package go. The CaymanS from Stuttgart is ard 280k for Manual version vs 294k for the Tiptronic and these are the base model. Throwing in some options bla bla, u will likely spend another 25-30k.

As for the M roadsters (or M cars in general ), there is hardly any additional spec you can think of apart from some accessories. And to my understanding, PML here typically brings in the highest specs for the M cars.

At the end of the day, if you have narrowed down your chocies between the M roadsters or MCoupe vs CaymanS then the likely critical factors you really have to think of are fundamentally just 2 things : Performance vs Branding.
If you ask me, I think it's really a tough choice. I adore the S54 powerplant but Porsche name sounds pretty darn good and gets a slot for parking right outside hotel entrance.

He has SMG paddelshifts, can't do that easily unless he dares to take the risk of getting em drilled/retrofitted or do away with the paddles and can only use gear lever after that.

was down today, several points:

the sales people i spoke to were unsure of the OMV price, told me to wait till tmr when they register the first car.

test drives for most customers are not available till 2 months down the road as members of the press get priority.

noticed the kidney grills are recessed deeper into the bumper of the M than the ones on the si

gearbox on ///M feels notchy and lots of free play

the imola red test drive car looked horrid with all the hairline scratches and spider webbing.

was told the coupe's only coming in oct

crap, i think i want one. anyone knows how much the insurance would be?

jack, borrowing your term, those 'angelic blond models' gave me the most saccharine of smiles when i apologized. wud have crushed them with a bear hug each... if only my oc wasn't standing 3 inches away. at dinner, the sales mgr asked if he should join us as we had a four-seater to the 2 of us....& i almost blurted "screw the cars, why dun u get the blondies over instead".

sm, we were eyeing the m-steering before pak placed his order. right on the very verge of ordering but heeded his advice that the paddles are way too kewl to give up. i am still waiting for ratified wiring pics before making a move to sumthin just as interesting, if feasible.

louis, dun be so angsty lah... u'll get ur m. glad you feasted your eyes today. insurance might be north of 4.5k with axa before ncd and tp 5% concession.

The M cars come with all the options which we call higher specs. Its standard all over the world with minor differences here and there only. Thats how BMW spec the M cars. Not because PML brings in with the highest specs

i will register it under my mum or sister's name. both have >15 years driving experience and have full NCD.
