Checked with Snowdog - probably +14 hp and +10% torque, if available. What do you guys think?

Re: Z4 E89 s23i - worth getting an ECU remap?

not much point. spend ur $$ elsewhere

Re: Z4 E89 s23i - worth getting an ECU remap?

NA engines doesn't really give a good power-money ratio... I guess it's fine to do an ECU remap, but I think you should explore other options such as intakes or something :)

+14bhp & +20Nm = not good enough ?

it's like upgrading a normal sedan from 1.6L -> 1.8L -> 2.0L (in term of specs)

Do a search on the various brands, review, pricing etc. Thats the next best thing you can do your magnesium block. Compliment it with a proper cai set-up, spark plugs, exos etc, you can prolly squeeze out a couple more hp.

for E90 i know 2 place. 1. open up bonnet, on the passenger side, open up the cover nearby the wiper, look for label calbee. 2. beside bonnet pull level. there is a plastic cover engrave with OBC, open up plug in your calbee chiputer. for BROBOT, just poke onto any hole you can find, the firware inside will auto detect and install with the proper driver. since you potong saga liow. no point la. tune liow also no use. :lol2:

+14hp = 6.4% gain over stock 218hp = 232hp
+10% in torque = 260 Nm

The above does not take into account the shift in the curves.

Anyway, just 3 words of advice - follow your heart.

If you have never done it before, then just do it. We only live once. At least you know what it is like, rather than wondering 10 years down the road "what if I have done it....?".

If you find it a waste of money, simple. Just don't do it on your next car.

Otherwise, you will keep wondering what if, and you will still end up remapping your next car.

So follow your heart.

Re: Z4 E89 s23i - worth getting an ECU remap?

Robot

Your N52B25 is 218BHP

The Sdrive 23i is same block at 204BHP

Can tune wan, is whether you Ai Try Mai Try Nia......

All the tuners I spoke to say: "can!"

But must be realistic.........for Sdrive 23i bring up to 325i 218bhp level, should be ok.....

Want to go beyond that...try liao KA EH JAI YIA.....

For me, I just want low-down torque improvement.....I don't give too much shit about BHP when inrcement is only 10 to 20 BHP, you won't feel the difference...but torque is something I would like to have more all the time.....

Just my opinion.

So, to TS....Wanna do, go ahead but do dyno before and after to see for yourself the gains achieved.....

Good Luck!

Acu,

If not SC or FI will not BOOMZ so easily wan lah, SIANG KEH SI Limp Mode NIA....Ai Tune Mai???

Oops, my bad. I just did a search and realised so. Is the block Sdrive 23i detuned? It has the same torque anyway.
