Xenon low beam to shine further

hi,

is it possible to 'adjust' the low beam xenon light to shine further ? i was driving at 130/140kmph in NSH at 5am recently. i found the lighted distance in front of me is too short at that speed especially if there is an object in the middle of the road.

the high beam was excellent. it lit up the entire road like daytime. but, as you know you can't turn on the high beam all the time. it blinds the front driver and also traffic from opposite direction.

i understand the xenon light auto adjust (a little bit) based on no of passenger in the car and its speed. but, it is just not good enough.

any suggestion ?

hi bro, i would think that the throw distance of our xenon lights r not too bad liao. but if u think its not far enough, maybe u wanna consider changing after market bulbs with better throw distance.

Re: Xenon low beam to shine further

what we usually do is, to switch on the high beam for safety, since NSH is not lit for vast stretches. If you see the headlamps of another car coming in the opposite direction, off the highbeam, until the guy passes. then on again. It's very troublesome, but it's the best and friendliest way to drive at night.

no matter how high you can adjust your low beam, it's not going to throw enough if you are going at high speeds.

Xenons come with auto-levellers right? If so, no way to adjust it.

that's what i did but during CNY the traffic is pretty heavy. keep turning on/off high beam for < 1 min ... after awhile didn't bother already.

i guess so. i was hoping xenon light can throw further compares to standard or projector headlight.

not thinking to change to aftermarket bulb at the moment. anyway, i don't drive often in wee hours in NSH. it's tiring and 'challenging'. the only good point is no need to pay angpao for speeding .... kekeke

I guess that may be why there's the Night Vision option.

Xenons reach is supposedly better than the standard projection headlight, that what the brochure said anyway.

Re: Xenon low beam to shine further

digging out this old thread for discussion. anyone adjust your xenon light to throw/shine further?

2 things that bother me
a. left and right throw distance is not equal
b. i wish the light can throw/shine further but not blinding infront or oncoming vehicle. this is helpful especially driving up north at night. and yeah you can't turn on high beam all the time

But wouldn't a longer throw need a brighter bulb ?
