I had a 520i stock nav head unit. CIC connector. Not sure if can be used in your 523i

Could you see if it is having the same part number? the last 3 digits are 368.

Why not consider a android head unit instead ? Better functions Google maps and waze bigger screen touchscreen as well

If the OEM headunit is faulty, installing an Android system will not resolve the problem.

The Android system needs the CIC’s auxiliary input for sound output.

Are you getting a blank idrive screen now?

Yes. The screen is blank now. The CD player and radio are working as normal. Just that the screen is blank. I would think the simplest way to solve the issue is to get the same audio head unit from the same model F10 523i

Couldn't find the head unit. Only the screen. Since you mentioned the CD and radio working as normal. Dont think your head unit spoilt.
