hi there can i ask why is sestrierre downsizing from 18in to 17in? is it bcos 18in ride is really that uncomfortable?
i am asking bcos i am on the verge of plonking down some money on a set of 18in...luckily saw this thread first...

i have owned and driven with 17in for many years. i just wonder if the diff will be felt for someone used to 17in ride quality.

tks for your answers!!

Liverpudlian, i think Wilson is trying to say the PSS9 got 9 comfort settings. It's a fully adjustable coilover by Bilstein. I will be upgrading soon.. (Barry paiseh, comfort first before looks keke, so your projector gotta wait hee)

Andy why don't you post something here since you are using PSS9 :p

Dan, I will see u at this Sun meet. Pls dun ask me for field report on PSS9 lah coz it is damn under-utilised in my ride as I dun even track.

Bilstein PSS9 are coilovers and they are both height adjustable and comfort adjustable (there are 9 levels of damping to play with). People who track their cars will love adjustable coilovers coz they can firm up the suspension for tracking and set them at comfort level for normal street use. As to what is a good height to set, I left that to the safe hands of a reliable mechanic.

I had my PSS9 for maybe 3 mths liao. Initial week feel like teeth wanna fall apart as the ride was very jarring as the PSS9 was not run in yet. Gradually, it became very comfortable. Now it is close to the level of comfort found in stock suspension except that the car is much lowered with an aggressive stance expected of lowered cars. Handling of course improved tremendously. I have yet to play with the othe levels of damping setting. Might try a firmer setting soon.

Anybody who wanna buy Bilstein PSS9 can look for Wilman2772. He can airfreight them in faster than you can imagine.

PS: Pls note that Coilovers is a generic term. It is also carried by other brands like KW, Teins, FK etc. Some are comfort adjustable some are not.

Re: WTB 17" rim / WTS 18" rim

Hi Dan,

Are you on stock suspension? Is the ride very harsh? Am really considering 18inch man.

Hi, i am on bilstein/eibach combo. Ride is ok for daily use but do expect ride comfort to suffer a little due to 18" inch + lowering.
