Would you buy a BMW 3 with I-drive or non I-drive? What is I-drive good for?

Hi guys, was pondering between the E92 I-drive or non I-drive and it's uses. Googled for it but seems like I-drive is not a necessary system for daily drive.
What are your reviews and comments on the usage of I-drive for your ride?

Thanks in advance.

Depends. LCI model came out in 2009, depends on which look you prefer. Bonnet, headlights and tailights are different, side mirror and perhaps some other things. You might also prefer newer car, mileage may be lower. Or you want to drive 2 years and scrap vs driving a COE car. Condition of car and gearbox will be most important, Idrive will be my last consideration.

Oh... thanks for ur insights. I was thinking if the idrive is like integrated into the car like a computer and maybe there are software tweaks that might be useful. Like android phones i unlock the developer options lol...

So if it's just ICE, then no point for me.

It does give you a description of warnings and errors if you get any. But still doesn’t pinpoint the exact problem. Eg for CEL

And it does have navigation maps, if you are inclined to pay $ for software updates for the maps.

It should have PDC, or you can even pay for reverse camera.

hmm... I usually use Google map on my trusty Note 9 and I don't really need a reserve camera to park my car. hmmm... I guess idrive doesn't really have things that I feel necessary to have then. So it's a good to have but not a must have in Sg context, opposite of what I've read in the US forums.

i supposed you are looking at 335i? older version with no i-drive is the normal gear vs those newer model with i-drive with DCT gear......not sure if there's any DCT with non i-drive unit still around

I was also looking at E92 335i earlier on sgcart mart, the ones I saw have idrive. But the N54 engine is quite notorious, not sure if I can handle it lol... then I was thinking if I keep to the regular maintenance and use it as a daily drive and not track it (I don't how anyway), it might just work out well?

usually before buy and drive is like that - once you are driving it - is a whole different experienced altogether ( some still went ahead to mod etc ) ..

happy issue..

It's a "happy issue"... hahhahaaha... love and hate relationship. I kinda like my engine in stock condition, maybe just the exterior, I might customise.. as usual hahaha

Thanks again for your info! :)
