When I saw the specs - I think its too thick at operating temps ......

Look at the cst@100 and 40 values. Bmw benchmark is around 12.2 for cst@100

The TBN is low because its LL04 and they did not publish the HTHS numbers.

HTHS basically means High Temperature High Shear.... therefore has to do with viscosity. It is supposedly a more accurate gauge of viscosity than kinematic viscosity which is usually measured in Degree Celsius.

Here r some info for ya... Lubricant Oil

Till date, this brand of oil has only approved for use in Mercedes-Benz vehicles.... BMW has not approved of this oil. Want to use, use it, got problem, don't KPKB can liao.

There are websites on synthetic engine oils worth studying. Just yahoo synthetic engine oils. Many tests are available. I use Liqui Moly and its good. Interesting how tests reveal that Mobil 1 is not the best performing oil.
