woes of selling off my car. true story.

Just needed a place to rant.

Was going to trade in my car, when my friend suggested posting it on a certain website for sale.

Tried it out, but left the price slot empty for buyers to offer, thinking that people might have the common sense to look or even explore around before offering a price.

Apparently NOT! to be honest, dealers are offering from 50k - 55k for my 320i, but heck! these "direct buyers" are even worse! some offered 51k, some offered 55k, but wait ... i always thought selling direct should get me a better price right? i mean honestly, consider the condition of cars before you even offer!

Quit telling me there's one out there for 52k or 51k, so why am i asking for more. If its so cheap, GO GET IT!

You could get one for 50k that requires a gearbox or engine overhaul or even a gearbox replacement while I've done all thats needed with proof of receipt!

Moral of the story, just trade in. Saves you the trouble and effort.

To those "lowballers .. or maybe extremely good at sums or just plain stingy, good luck to you guys buying a BMW.

Can understand. Last time I tried to sell direct but I gave up and give to dealers instead. Lugi a few thousand but at least don't have to suffer the anguish.

First rule of selling. NEVER LET PEOPLE OFFER. Any buyer common sense is offer as low as possible, ie. buy low.

I have seen so many ads in our bazaar stating, "throw me a price", "offer me", and the seller complaining about low balling, yada, yada... State your price, let people counter offer, you negotiate. Meaningful.

i agree! however, its a bit dfferent. surely if you want to buy something, you will know the market price! anyway, its really quite funny. the prices offered were really really FAR off.

like .... 49k , 45k ... you get the picture. i feel almost tempted to reply "dude. that price would get you a toyota in excellent shape! probably with some change too!"

As a site sponsor and D&D Sponsor of the cheapest full of bubble tinting made in dunno which country, you are not supposed to interfere with the way another person does his business. Please go back to your own Site Sponsor section or I will inform your wife that you and Chocs took picture together and you touched her backside.
