Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

This is the least talk about topic and I also wouldnt think that theres anything to talk about till recent experience. I m driving a E60 and my windscreen wiper starts to wear out. So called PML and the price was ridiculous. Called Eng Soon and they are cheap but no installation and thus go for Juzz For Cars. The price was reasonable but its not original wipers but they claimed its OEM for BMW. So decided to give it a shot n installed a few weeks ago.
After the few days, no rain so no chance to try. Then it rains and then my nightmare comes. It worst than the wiper that has worn out and it doesnt sweep off rain properly and have that irritating "grrrm" sound and the wiper not wiping smoothly. And worst still, when the wiper reaches the edge, there is a knocking sound.
Go back to Juzz for Cars the next day and they say its not possible and for the knocking side, they just adjust the wipers. I know this is not gonna work but LL and wait for another rainy day. True enough, it was raining a few days later and the wiper stil have the same problems.
Now I want to tell them to replace a new one and if it still the same, I would go back to PML and change and pay the exhorbitant sum. Fortunately, this time when I go back there, I think he is the boss that came to address my problem, (not Amos as I know him), he was kind enough to explain that this is a common problem and u need to scrub the windscreen with a windscreen cleaning solution. He get his people to do that and then adjust the windscreen. I was very pleased with the service offered but still sceptical if it will work. But what impress me was that for an inexpensive item, he would go the extra mile and also not charge me for the cleaning of the windscreen. At least, this compensate my time for going there 2 times for just a "wiper" problem that I have never had in all my cars that I have driven. The other day, it was raining and there are still some slight wiping problem on the left wiper but the right one is fine and the knocking sound is gone. He told me that I have to regularly use the windscreen cleaner to clean my windscreen to scrub away the grease and dust. I will monitor it for a few more weeks after regularly cleaning and see if its still happening.
For those Bros out there, if u have the wiper experience and rectify it, pls share and help. I just want to share my "bad" and "good" experince at Juzz for Cars.

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

how much saving compares J4C's wiper parts to PML one? How long did you used it before its worn? Mine jus coming to a year, still works fine.

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

Bro, mine was abt 2 years + before it worn out. I think there is no time frame but basically if your car is always out in the open glaring sun, it will worn out faster. U will know it when u use the wipers as its not smooth and have a sound when it wipes.

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

happened to me quite often in the past cos i used to park in the sun a lot. rubber of the blades tends to harden and become inefficient.

if you have added any additive into the wiper fluid, the juddering of the wipers may get worse.

don't add soap-based additive. what has worked for me is the rain x additive. make sure it's the additive and not the windscreen treatment.

what you can do it apply some armourall on the blades and let it soak in. will soften the blades and make it more plaint. initially may leave some streaks on the windscreen, but it will eventually rinse off in the rain anyway.

has anyone tried the new silicon blades yet? i bought a pair but they couldn't fit, so i returned it.

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

Hi Roger,

Glad to hear that the wipers are working a little fine than before. Yes, due to the "nature's torture" on the winsscreen, very often it gets grime, oil, dust, particles stucked that cause the wipers to "malfunction".

If the left wiper still has that slight wiping problem, do let us know. We will clean the windscreen one more time. I can understand how irritating it is to have squeaky and knocking wipers. :yummie:

Happy Driving.

:)

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

It rains today and the noise came back. I have been scrubbing the windscreen myself for 4-5 times in a week using BMW windscreen cleaner and hope that it will not come back. But here it goes again. Sigh...... I would bring it back to J4C this week and hope to change for a new pair and see if it happens again. Its so time wasting to keep on going back to rectify a wiper problem and only when it rains and when u are driving, then u can see the problem. I hope J4C will replace me a new pair and if the problem persist, will go to PML and change and then if have such problem, can make alot of noise as they are PML mah.

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

Did you change the whole wiper or just the rubber blade?

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

i bought one from eng soon and installed it....it was great....

did u just wax ur car? the sound from the wiper when it sweeps sometimes is due to the wax or the grim.

even u replaced it to original pml one, it will still have that sound.

claybar the windscreen and see if it helps.

Why not go for the silicone blades as they do a wonderfuljob!
I know as I'm using them on both my UDM & MB. As they clean they also
deposit a silicone coat to bead the rain.... try and see, nearly like rainX
efx. it's worth the cash. Up north here they cost RM65 a pair.....
real value for money and also got lifetime warranty too.... can claim
as I pally-pally wif impotter.
lotsa luck fellas!

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

Bros, thanks for all the feedback. I guess I just have to trouble myself to go to J4C for 1 more time and if it doesnt work, I wont want to waste time to keep going down. If they replace a new pair, that wud be good. If not, I will try to get another pair from somewhere - PML? Eng Soon? etc

Mate,

where to buy Up north? Do they have for E36 as well as Toyota Wish? I wanna get for both my cars, it's a lot safer if the windscreen beads up the rain water after wiping.....

I'm driving up all the way till Penang next month, let me know where I can buy on the way.......

Cheers

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

I had problems with wiper too when I first got the car preowned. Wiper judder or it seems to slip over a portion of the screen and sounds extremely irritating. So I went to autobacs and got a new pair of greddy or something for 15 per piece 30 in total. Was good for the trip back and still the same problem. It gets even worse when I put the speed of wiper to 2. I resorted to manual intermittent wiping of the windscreen when raining or not wipping at all. Then it became a hazard when the rain became heavy at some stage. Thought of changing car. Because even a bloody taxi can wipe better and faster. Some say it was the screen application of rainx and such. but it didn't happened on my previous 16 year old car. I was using borsch. Funny thing was borsch claims tropical rubber.

So I got 2 borsch last week. now I actually appreciate the rain. the problem is gone for now. seems like tropical rubber does the job fine. And I stop using BMW wax and wash maybe that helps as well. Try it if your problem persist. Borsch can be found anywhere , I got mine from Giant.

Re: Windscreen Wiper - Juzz For Cars

Bro Vega, what model of BMW are u driving? I am not sure if Borsch will fit mine. Where else besides Giant sell these, like a workshop who can fit it for u? I would try out one last time at J4C and then if still cannot, give up and maybe try Borsch. Also now my rear brakes warning light came out and maybe get it fix at J4C at the same time. I understand your frust and u say it right" even taxis wipers works better than ours"!!!
