Window Tinting

I am thinking of doing the window tinting and UV protected on my 04 E46 SE (Titanium Silver ).

Any members have good recommendations or experiences to share?

1. Quality of tinting versus price range
2. Colour of tint (greenish, bluish,etc) is more soothing and cooler for our ride
3. Any problems with LTA inspection
4. Value for money

I have checked with PML and they say that there is already some tinting done.

Is it really cooler with the windows tinted and UV protected?

Yes, I am also looking for such information but there seems to be very little in this forums. I am sure there are more members like us want to know whether it is worth to install this solar film. Which brand is better? Vcool/3M??? They all claimed that their is the best and we are confused. Can someone pls help. Especially those already installed in their car.

Hi,

I have installed film from COOLnLITE, they had a promo few months back , chose the one with 95% rejection, not too dark, LTA compliant, cost around $600 plus. Installation took 2 hours, can wait at their lounge. Check out their site.
Quite happy with service and product.
I made some comparison then, comparable product from Vcool cost more than a grand.
If you are still keen on Vcool, I think the shop along Telok Kurau have promo once in a while.
Just my personal opinion.

Mine done with 3M, not too bad for the price with 95% heat rejection for the front. workmanship is good, no bubbles. took about 2 hrs too!

What is the cost? Which shop did you go to? Is it LTA approved? I heard it come with lifetime warranty, what is the catch? And when did you get your car installed? Any promotion?

on paper all the different brands looks the same. all reject 95%uv etc etc.

vkool a bit different as thet have to cut a hole at ur erp unit. i think they reject more "rays" hence the high price. my previous car was using vkool. very good. u can really tell the difference. now i am using suncool. cost only 400+. my wife using another brand (PML SE recommended this brand to me too) which i forgotten what. hers is slightly cooler then mine under the hot sun. but i think the difference is insignificant between brand.

the difference is with film or no film. go for it.
