If its a BMW, it hardly makes any difference. Whether you track it or not, it is a known fact that BMW drivers drive their car hard. It might be a small percentage that really protects the virginity of their cars. SO to me, no it doesnt make any difference as long as the car is maintained and BMW engines have the least problems as compared to other parts of the car on the pretext that engine and car is maintained well.

don't agree with you, elmariach. However hard I drive a car up the mountains, or the highway, it cannot compare to the stress to the car on repeated hot lapping. NOT even close. The suspension mountings get weakened, the seam welds get unravelled, in fact, the only thing which is relatively OK is the engine. The chassis get screwed though in most cars.

However, it won't devalue the car, of course. Just say, like a fellow M3 owner we know, that the car has not been tracked before.

Not many ppl drive up all the way up mountains and even if they do, you can see how careful they are.I know that one is way stressful. Tried on my dads e240. Engine temp shot up higher than normal. However, BMW cars tend to be driven harder in general. And in this context where track and normal driving is converned, it makes not much difference.

Re: Will you buy a car that has been tracked frequently?

only if it comes with all the track-ready mods and the driver's someone i know who keeps up with regular and frequent maintenance like oil change etc.

Re: Will you buy a car that has been tracked frequently?

People who track their cars usually really take care of them. Even the parts that can still be used will be swapped out. Oil changes are done very frequently. Nothing can be even a little bit wrong.

Well, at least that's how the people I know who track their cars are...

Re: Will you buy a car that has been tracked frequently?

If I dont know the owner at all ( complete stranger to me ) then I won't consider.
but if I do and the owner really takes good care of the car, I wont rule out.

U want to buy my car Hitmee ? kekekeke....

Re: Will you buy a car that has been tracked frequently?

If you are selling your car, will you honestly tell the buyer you have been tracking your car? i guess not.

Can i safely draw the conclusion that 80% of the time the car value will be lowered if you have been tracking it?
