Will this pissed you off??

Been to the workshop several times but still no answer. Every time it rains, my blood pressure goes up. Paid 138K for a luxury car and I feel like driving a 15 years old taxi when it rains. Sat in a Proton taxi recently and it had better wipers.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

hmm...wat's wrong with the wipers?

Re: Will this pissed you off??

I experience wiper problems with ALL continental cars that I have driven before (BMW, Merc and Alfa). Alfa was by far the worst. Have you tried putting lots of soap on a sponge and using it on the wipers when washing your car? Also, did you apply anything to your windscreen on the outside? (Rain-X for instance makes the wipers skip when they are sweeping across the windscreen.)

Re: Will this pissed you off??

WAHAHA.. James Bro.. i dunno how or what to react ! i'm immune to it ! when you're feeling sad or frustrated towards ur car, think of me and you will feel batter.. hahahaha~~

Re: Will this pissed you off??

ya.. those wiper woes is pretty frustrating.. now I got use to driving without the wipers (but not in heavy rain) and if you get to 90kph upwards, you don't really need them.. all the water droplets just crawl onto your roof.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

Guys, thanks for the sympathy. No Rain-x, not even washing the windscreen with wash & wax shampoos. Tried all the BMW products given to me. PML polished the windscreen to remove any residue and even changed the wipre blades. One of the bro recommended Newpaper (weather page) and scrub like hell - done that and its still noisy. The funny thing is that after every wash, clean and scrub, if you run your fingers along the windscreen, you can feel the resistance. Its only on the wiper area of operation. The area outside the reach of the wiper is sliky smooth. Just want to vent some steam cause I was really pissed this morning. Spoken to PML and they promised to get back to me for answer. Change windscreen next maybe????

Janson - thanks for the advise. Maybe you should send me a photo so that I can paste it in front of the windscreen. That would remind me of a poor soul who is suffeering more than me. But sent a decent one, don't want to fighten the kids. Thanks for cheering me up.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

Wipers juttering since 1st week of delivery - I sent in my car to PML yesterday. Don't know what they have done to the wiper arms. However, the same problem happened again this morning. will have to send in tomorrow afternoon again and see whether they can solve the problem. Really pissed off.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

Guys, It's the windscreen, not the wiper. There is either oil streak or wax on the windscreen. mama lemon works here.

be careful when u place ur polishing cloth when u polishing the car, its the cause !

If u try all these and it still makes a lot of noise, then it may be that the windscreen is rough liao, as in a lot of pits due to upnorth driving.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

The SA can't confirm the cause of this problem. That could be the reason why PML service centres are so busy everyday! Still the same as 10 years ago. Just disappointed.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

I had the same problem for 2 years. I tried original wipers, silicon, frameless, change the wiper arms, got some dudes to polish and even change the whole windscreen! Barely after 6 months, the juddering come back again. You can try using autoglym, mama papa lemon - it's not much use also.

However, I went to autobacs and bought those good-day frameless wipers they had for sale. They cost 13bucks each. Instead of our stock standard length, I tried using 17 and 18" wipers and was able to drive in peace for the past one week.

You guys might wan to give it a try. :yummie: Good luck!

Try a potato, cut in half and rub the cut part on the whole windscreen, rinse off with water. Removes all the oily grime and windscreen has never been cleaner.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

Talked to few peoples and they told me wiper juttering problem is commom on the 3 series especially 323i. need to send back to PML to polish the windscreen. Can anyone confirm on this issue? thanks.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

My E65 has the same problem. PML and wiper blade change totally unhelpful. Gave up trying already. Have to resort to driving in the rain without the wipers whenever possible.

Re: Will this pissed you off??

hi bros

my wipers quite ok leh, wipe the wind screen swee swee with only one sweep.

and i thought they are better then those on e46 330.

i really dont think so leh.

cheers

Re: Will this pissed you off??

My agony is over since I replace the windscreen because of a crack casued by a stone hit. The problem is with the windscreen, not the wipers. Survived the recent raining season without much problems from the wipers.
