Why Porsche REALLY had to make the Cayman

Why did Porsche have to make the Cayman since the Boxster was already 95% a Cayman with a cool open top? And why didn't they name it the Boxster Coupe?

Probably this. Anybody remember this from the Sopranos? JOE PANTOLIANO utterly destroyed the Boxster single handedly that day ...

cayman was launched for the same reasoning as the BMW 335.
Gapping the boxster n Carrera , 330 and M3

and it turns out to be a huge success.
