Wholly stickered car

fed up of all the bird shit leaving stains on my car:evil:

due to the hot weather, stoopid bird shit is damn acidic and eats through the clear coat really fast and leave unsightly stains. have already gotten a few despite having gone for grooming only 2 weeks ago. and i don't even park under trees - stoopid birds just think my car is a bloody potty. just fed-up with washing and polishing just to have the shiny surface tarnished by the winged b*****ds :furious:

was toying with the idea of going for wholly stickered car in matt. recall seeing an acid green lambo in siglap recently with whole car stickered in matt with bull design on the bonnet. workmanship looked quite good - no bubbles, and looked like a matt paint job.

was thinking of incorporating some design onto it, but not to the extent of 'ricing' it. looking for a minimalistic, simple tasteful appearance. max 1 graphic design element. not too large. or mebbe just racing strip on the shoulder line on the sides.

has anyone done this before on their bimmer? any issues with maintainance? heat retention? how about washing? and will it leave any permanent marks when removed?

and i am also hoping it will prevent stone chips.

seeking opinions from you guys and gals.

just tell me if you think i am nuts :nehnehhh:

Re: Wholly stickered car

time to change your signature. sticker also considered mod.

Re: Wholly stickered car

i also sien of the bird poo/stains.. most probably buying a car cover.. i see a few people using a car cover in my workplace as the carparks are all under trees. everyday after work for sure got new stains/poo.. figure i'll start using one after r2d is done grooming my car.

Re: Wholly stickered car

ok you get car cover to protect car and bird poos on cover, are you going to wash the cover everytime you get poo on it? If not, fold poo'ed cover and keep in trunk and reuse next time? maybe have 2 sets and rotate

Re: Wholly stickered car

am thinking more on the mid-term.

look a bit more chio, and if sick of the look, can peel off and go back to stock paint.

also hoping that it'll prevent stone chips.

Re: Wholly stickered car

i think i read somewhere on the forum, sticker whole car is around 2-3k issit? or cheaper?

Re: Wholly stickered car

dunno leh. intend to call up genconcepts to check it out tomorrow.

inspired by the ad they put up in the latest issue of hot stuff, show you on thursday at the driving range. they just recently did a banana yellow e90 for a race.

btw, the chick on the front cover doesn't look to bad. robot, are you reading this?

Re: Wholly stickered car

Pls.... no strips or designs additional to the matt black.
If you are thinking of doing the Matt black, do have a discussion with the person or shop doin it...... As i have seen on some EVOs.... due to the contour of the Frt Bonnet, when u take a close look.... the finishing are not veri nice and some part on the car body due to heat or sun shine......... there will be some peeling....

To me, if the shop can give you some sort of assurance.... I would not mind doin it...
(btw, i dun think it's cheap.... eg. for an EVO 8 or 9... to do it into the YOKOHAMA design which is the black & red strips === abt S$800.....) :laughlik: :laughlik:

Re: Wholly stickered car

i can now imagine jinooi peeling away his sticker.. if one day he kana flash by camera...

Re: Wholly stickered car

hahaha won't be peeling away the sticker in the future spoiles the paint job? don't think it's a good idea leh. hmm

Re: Wholly stickered car

Re: Wholly stickered car

That lambo did his "sticker job" at Gen Concept. Saw it doing up with a Porsche and Ferrari.
If I didn't remember wrongly, its a matt green with matt black bull on the bonnet.
The guy said to do up the lambo, the damage done was 2k plus.
