Which Petrol?

Re: Which Petrol?

I pump caltex 95.

Heard that 92Ron also okay. But prefer 95Ron to protect engine from possible knocking if use Ron 92.

Last time use to pump 95 Ron from exxon.. but after switching to caltex 95 Ron feels my car performs better in mileage.

May I ask if there is any different in other brands of Ron 95?:shakemyb:

Re: Which Petrol?

Started pumping v-power with a bottle of nitrous express octane booster... says on the packet, it takes 97Ron to a whole new level... 103Ron. The car purrrrs hehehe

I guess your car will fly like a F16 jet. Remember to install air-brake coz your BBK won't be of much use.

Re: Which Petrol?

says on the packet... one bottle for minimum of 5 gallons (abouts 20 litres). So, my tank fits 3 bottles. Toto ... Yours can easy take 5 or 6 bottles and its still cheaper than pumping in the UK hehehe :p

... we should talk to Rodney though. I saw another thread saying he can get race fuel. Group Buy?

DONE dude! anything to go faster.

Re: Which Petrol?

I use a mix of both 92 and 95, sometimes 98. But seriously, maybe I am not sensitive enough, but they dun really make much difference to me.

Re: Which Petrol?

Hey Phil... thought you were all for higher grade RON's ... your lawnmower says so. :)

FYI... I picked up the booster at Autobacs... they had a range, but I was not sure which one was best. I chose this specific one as the packet specifically noted the base of RON97 to a final RON103 (i.e. it was suggesting using it with premium fuel in the first place). Also, the bottle came with an applicator attachment which meant I could get it in the tank easily.

The other thing being that it was not Toluene based (Toluene burns slower so f*cks up your catalytic converters). With Toluene you have to use loads for it to do anything apparently, and this one seemed to be in high concentration so would not water down the original petrol too much. See last two paragraphs of this link Octane Boosters Testing - Tech Review - European Car Magazine

I was actually trying to get hold of an alternative. There is a highly recommended booster called NF Octain Booster Racing Formula. See the Fast Fours review on boosters: [sx] Octane Boosters

The reason being, as the dutch tuner did stuff to my car, he asked what grade petrol I used. I mentioned that Malaysia has lower grades - often 95, and he specifically recommended using a booster there.

Re: Which Petrol?

i think some of the senior brothers here said in another thread that u can use 95 or even 92 (but will cause knocking cos ECU needs to adjust).
Personally, i find not much diff on 95 or 98 but my recent switch to SPC 98 from caltex was able to get me 9.7km/litre on my e60....(me ride is 2 months old)...on highway driving with no stop go traffic on 80km/h during peak traffic provided traffic is smooth la...
