Yes managed to get to Propel and got my stuff. However, prices aint that cheap, not much difference compared to M'sia.

As for modified BMWs, I knew of a young boy who stroke his e46 320i in Spore, ended up with an accident and due to bad luck the insurance company found out about his modification. At the end, no compensation from the insurance company.

Yes.......the only fear is that insurance company do not cover .......

Just cars demage can still manage easily through $$$ BUT if touchwood, if there is life involved, big trouble leow......

I don't think engine transplants are legal in Malaysia either, but over there legal enforcement is much more lax.

Sometimes, when I am on the North South, I wonder how these Protons can overtake me or how these Kancils can keep up with me. :ehhh:

Hahaha..cause you're driving too slow bro..

 ehehehe j/k.

Well transplants are legal in M'sia provided the new engine capacity does not increase by more than 20% and upgrading of brakes and etc. Of course if you decide to install a turbo or supercharger I don't think you need approval from the authorities. For BMWs, the popular mods are transplanting bigger engines (cheapest route) or stroking it to 3.2 (with a HIOP kit). Have seen an e34 stroked to 3.2 with a Dinan charger.

As for the Protons and Kancils, most of them has got the Evo and Mira turbo engines inside. If you drive a six potter try following them for about 5-10 mins :) :) , I am sure they will let you through.

Dude

Wah! Really! No need for approval from the Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalanraya (JPJ) for engine transplants and supercharging ar? You guys are so lucky. But this means that people can increase the power for tbeir cars and get away with paying less roadtax in Malaysia.

If change engine definitely need to register with JPJ and go for an inspection with Puspakom. If just an addition of a turbocharger or supercharger then its not necessary.

Btw, I don't know that many folks who go and register with JPJ when they do an engine transplant..most of them just re punched the engine number on the transplanted one. :)

I really didn't know that supercharging and even engine transplants are legal in Malaysia - and I am Malaysian somemore.

Since when was all this allowed? Now that Malaysia has a national car company, is this the Malaysian government's way of encouraging a more "innovative" car industry? Must allow the car workshops to experiment here and there in order to up the level of car technology. Hehe. :)

If so, how come when I was a teenager in Malaysia, I used to see all these motorbikes get stopped by the police for illegal mods? Don't the Malaysian police look out for illegal mods (modifikasi haram) on cars?

Actually they do conduct roadblocks to check on illegally modified cars. As far as turbo or supercharging is concerned, I don't think the authorities are having any problems with that.

Of course, a lot of the Wira and Satrias are using the famed Evo engines and to make it legal you have to send in the car to Puspakom for a check and register the new engine with JPJ.

That being said, if you decide to add forced induction to your beemer, a visit to Puspakom and JPJ is not necessary. Malaysia Boleh!
