I kerbside my hamann race edition rims and I believe that the lips are actually polished metal. Any idea where I can get them restored?

Thanks in advanced.

Re: where to fix rims which have been kerb?

thanks... any idea how much it would cost?

Anyone used them before to repair rims which have been kerb?

Re: where to fix rims which have been kerb?

assuming "standard" and "common" curb rash and nothing dramatic

leong seng = $50
hurry = $30

both can do good job. i have fixed curb rash twice with hurry. if your rim is silver or silver-like colour, it should looks like new ... if your rim is special colour or powder coated, that's very tricky and may be unrepairable without respray

Re: where to fix rims which have been kerb?

Just to share....due to my work, I had seen how factory produce super polished shiny surface on metal parts. The simplest method is to use a high speed grinding (hand held type) machine and mount a super fine sand paper on the tip and work on the surface....a steady hand is required but no big job for our bros here who can mod much more complicated stuff !! So, polished surface can be repaired for sure.....if cost is so affordable as $30 to $50....then let the pro do it......cheers!

Re: where to fix rims which have been kerb?

anyone has any idea if it was over grind, the polish surface turns to copper color?

if your rim chrome ,its only electroplated a tiny layer of Chrome on the surface, propably the copper color is the pri coat.
so before you do any of this repair job, some uncertainty is there.
Repair is repair, the best party to do the job is the wheel manufacturer but usually they dont do, do heard about those US product customer made wheel accept repair only thing is the freight cost

you probably be better off sending it to yew lip to re-spray it since your rims looks like it is gunmetal.

Hi wt-know

When you mention silver or silver like colour... are you refering to those standard OEM rims on BMW that sort of colour.

How does Hurry repair them .... sanding? wouldn't that cause the shine on the rims go off or have scuff marks?

I just had kerb scratches on one of my rims... :(

Re: where to fix rims which have been kerb?

yup ... sand sand abit, putty and spray ... wala ... it looks like new .. i have done it twice at hurry tyres on BMW oem silver rims
