When would be the release of the next generation M3?

hi,
i am thinking about buying the M3 next year
and really dont want to buy it just to stay with a previous model. how far away is the next M3?

i know that the E9X is around for a long time (2007)

From what i gather we have just started seeing F30 test prototypes
2011 is reveal date for F30 sedan.
Expect to see coupe prototypes running around in 2012
In 2013 we will see M3 test prototypes coupe running around and then launch in 2014/2015

i assume the considerations for buying a sport car vs standard (normal) is totally different

I thk ther is no clear indication of the nxt gen of M3.... speculative on a yr or so after the f30 realease on 2012 ... ... the curent 1 is stil in the talk n demand, i like it man!!

Even though Audi came out with new RS5, most car reviewers indicate M3 is still the one to go for. The new E92 M3 is equipped with Competition Package. The V8 engine sounds superb. Not sure the future turbo engine would sound that great.

yes if can afford, just buy. a M cannot ever be compared to a 325i or 335i. it's a beauty in it's class and it will still be for many many years to come.

I think its more gotta to w the fact that u spend so much and then the model gets phased out within 1-2 yrs and not so much whether u like it or not...

.tat was my concern prior to buying the current model...but I guess after test driving it, its hard for me to say no..LOL! end of day I guess buy when you are comfortable with it....

Normally, that is a concern, but the S85 V10 in the E60 M5, and the S65 V8 in the E9x M3 will be the last bespoke N.A. engines for M cars. The engines were unique to these cars and not shared with any other models in the BMW range.

Future engines, apart from likely being FI, will also likely be shared with other cars -- see the X5 M or the X6M or the upcoming 135 M

So you will have something unique with the current gen 8)

I know of ppl in the U.S having this query too, M3 or the 550i, for the 5 series is the latest model.

If I were you, I would plonk for the E90 M3.

Agreed... and I'm aiming to get an ///M Coupe Z4 (the one Petronas use in MME type) in two years time... that's when I've had enough fun with my current ride...
