wheelwax

Re: wheelwax

iam using it right now:thumbsup: . wassup?

Re: wheelwax

how do you find it.? Good in terms of ease of cleaning? How often do you need to wax again? :)

Re: wheelwax

it is very good for rims and metal, gives it superb shine and smoothness. its like normal wax where u apply on ur rims after washing. wipes off with any chamois. The texture after wiping off is smooth and waxy. However rather than preventing dust from settling, i feel that it attracts brake dust even more. because of the waxy slightly sticky surface, brake dust tends to get stuck on the rims over a shorter period of time. However, it does provide a layer of protection which makes ur next wash easier.

Up to you how often you wanna wax. becoz iam on radial spokes, its a bitch to wax and wipe it off. just doing it on all four rims can take as much time as washing the entire car. I usually do it once a mth. you can do it every week if you have less spokes on ur rims

IMO, nothing beats a good wash of the rims and towel dry it with nothing applied to it. seems to attarct least brake dust.

Thanks a lot for the info. Very helpful. I am using radial spokes too. but i guess is worth the every effort. :)

Re: wheelwax

why not try the sonax rim protector spray on? works for me...

Re: wheelwax

I am getting fed up washing the rims as DUST will gather after 1day..

After a few days... its black.

I spend more time washing the Rims then my car!!!

Any good product that can reduce Dust gathers:errr:

its really a characteristic of BMW. I usually give it a good wash and leave it till the next week. No way you can keep it dust free. I know its really irritating that the entire car is shiny but the rims r shit.

Re: wheelwax

Yes - stock 325i 17" rims are a real bitch to clean! Takes as long as washing the car.

Mine are 159s. I use Sonax and the autoglym wheel brush, but am often swayed into taking the car to SPC for someone else to do the back breaking work! Might be tempted to switch when the tires are up for renewal, though I think the design is quite nice.

Hi Jinooi,

Is this the ones that you spray on, leave it for a couple of minutes, and then hose off? Does it really works? Am tempted to try, coz I do agree that it's a real bitch to clean them rims.

bro ur breyton racs CS has many spokes. siong to clean man!

Re: wheelwax

sonax has 2 products - the rim cleaner and the rim protector.

rim cleaner is a spray on, let it sit, the rinse off detergent. not too effective unless you are the fanatic (like wilman2772) who washes your rims every other day. plus the stock brake pads give off a lot of dust, so IMO, don't waste money - just use car shampoo and a bit of plain ol' scrubbing.

rim protector does work. it's a aerosol spray that leaves a layer of transparent laquer / varnish on the rims once it dries. makes the brake dust much easier to wash off...
